IOS61 was initally released alongside IOS60. It was used by the Wii Shop Channel from the System Menu 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2 updates. Also used by Photo Channel 1.1b.

It is composed of 15 app parts, the ticket and the TMD. This IOS is known to have SDHC support. On the vWii this IOS is missing, making this the only IOS with a version exclusive to newer RVL-101 units (v5918).
