I removed the news item:
"The here-banned hacker Waninkoko released the first custom firmware to run in an unmodded Wii. Some claim that DVD-R's can be read on an unmodded console by using GenPlus-GX."
#Why are we posting news and linking to a user that is supposedly banned?
#The claims are false, you need a modchip to read DVDR's, no matter what.
#This is NOT a "custom firmware". It is a modified version of Nintendo's IOS. IOS is the software which runs on a sub-processor inside the Wii. It is not related to the "firmware" with channels, mii editor, etc in it.
#This is mostly useless for homebrew...on unmodded wii's the only thing it does is let you dump commercial wii discs.
I really think the news page should be locked and only a select few should be able to edit. That would prevent dumb news items like these getting posted
