Talk:WiiXplorer
It would be more effective if you post your problem/bug at the WiiXplorer google code website. -Gamewizard71 03:16, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Very Useful
The SMB share feature comes in handy - Love the way the whole things works --Titmouse 15:36, 7 February 2011 (CET)
Amazing
Compared to some of the other device explorers that have been released, this looks fantastic. Great job!
- Yeah, this has incredible potential to be like an OS (not all the base code), but almost like turning on my regular computer, playing some files, loading other programs, very good! -TPAINROXX/BKW 00:40, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Epic Tool
I had used SD Explorer before and always wished a file manager that looks and works good, this one is the ultimate fileexplorer :) as this program include mp3 playback support, I would like to see playback controls (maybe with a playlist, shuffle mode etc. ?) 21:12, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
This reminds me of the DS app DSOrganize, which is one of the most epic homebrew apps I've ever used. And I didn't even realize this had audio support until it was pointed out by the above comment! But it IS a little odd to not support just plain old WAV (even DSOrganize on the DS does...), and FLAC and WavePak + ReplayGain suppost would make everything right in the world. (oh yeah, and the above-mentioned shuffle function) Also, why not put in some APNG support along with PNG? Nintendo Maniac 64 08:18, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Nice tool
This is the best file explorer so far! Great job!!! wplaat
...
(Speechless) This is nice! I would like to see some text-editing support, but this thing is great

Music question
Just out of curiosity, is the music in here directly ripped from the Wii System Menu? If so, I doubt that's legal...but I'm far from an expert. Love the program, just don't want something dumb like that to hold it back...-Kage Korosu 05:41, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
Very Good!
This is very good! I use this along with texted mod to create themes for dmp!
having trouble installing
I have the channel, but I can't get it to load the file. can someone help me out? CriticalAcclaim 20:10, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
The SMB support mentioned - is this samba shares?
IE should I be able to see my samba shares accross my WiFi?
Because I could not get this working. Ttguy 13:04, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
SMB works perfectly right if you set it up correct. Dimok
Config
I'm not sure how to use the config line about setting a music directory for the music, I wanted a folder on my smb1: to be the default for music but couldn't seem to get it working.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Slimmmmmm (talk • contribs) 22:27, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
No need to set anything up with the new Music Player. It does it for you. Playing files from SMB only works internally in the App. After a restart the PlayList is still present in the Music Player and the Play Button must be pressed by the user again as soon as the SMB is mounted (Only for SMB this way). Mplayer Bug
Loading any movie file in Mplayer always results in a crash for me. I've tried every format and size known to man. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Slimmmmmm (talk • contribs) 22:27, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
You are using the old version of MplayerCE that is why it is crashing. The new beta versions of it have it fixed. Dimok
FTP Problems
I've tried using the FTP features, but they don't seem to work. I've tried Windows Explorer in XP and FileZilla. -Silvarjin 08:26, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
The FTP Server Issue is known and is a problem inside the cIOS as mentioned several times on the GoogleCode site. You need to try different variants of the IOS202 by Hermes and one of it should work. Also i would recommend to use active mode since it works better than the passive.
I want to mention to everyone that this site is not for reporting issues. Please use the GoogleCode site for that. Dimok
Uh...
Just before I download this, is there any requirements for this channel/program? Like a required cIOS or something?
- Well you should install cIOS Hermes v2 which you can find on the Wiixplorer google code website.Randomdude 21:46, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Wow.
This app is great! If it had a text editor, support for multiple windows, and loading the game disk, it would be perfect. It's just like an OS! --Jrcolonial98 14:03, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- It does have text editor!Randomdude 17:27, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
Announcements on front page
Dimok, are you planning announcing new releases on wiibrew front page in releases section? that would be helpful --Spec 14:48, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
IOS58 and HW_AHBPROT
I believe that to get full use of WiiXplorer you currently need to have IOS202 installed. Is it planned to remove this necessity and replace it with needing IOS58 and using HW_AHBPROT flags from latest HBC, like WiiMC has? --SifJar 15:04, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oops, I feel silly now, I just read on the main page that there is USB support via IOS58. Are all features available via IOS58 and HW_AHBPROT, or are there any features that still need IOS202? --SifJar 15:06, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes... also feel free to visit the Googlecode website and look at the recent changes. Randomdude 16:34, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
NAND Filesystem
- Is it possible to add NAND FS access to WiiXplorer? (Maybe read only to prevent a brick) --Jannis234 13:29, 13 August 2011 (CEST)
