Wie wird es Installiert
Kopiere den homebrew_browser Ordner in den apps/ Ordner der SD Karte Gehe sicher, dass der kleine Schreibschutz auf der SD Karte auf off ist. Starte mit dem Homebrew Channel.
Verwendung
Du kannst dir diesen Guide ansehen, der zeigt, wie man den HBB verwendet.
- Wenn du den Homebrew Channel dann entpacke den homebrew_browser Ordner vom Archiv in den apps Ordner in der Root deiner SD Karte.
- Starte den Homebrew Browser vom Homebrew Channel aus und die Wii muss mit dem Internet verbunden sein.
- Verwende die Wiimote mit IR um deine Hombrew Anwendung auszuwählen.
- Grünes Schild - Du hast die aktuellste Version dieser Anwendung schon installiert.
- Gelbes Schild - Du hast nicht die aktuellste Version dieser Anwendung installiert und solltest sie updaten.

Wie funktioniert es
- Der Homebrew Browser (HBB) kontaktier den Hauptserver um eine Liste von aktuellen Homebrew Anwendungen zu empfangen. Diese Liste beinhaltet den Namen die Bildergröße die Bootdatei größe und ob es eine dol oder elf Datei ist, als auch den Namen und alle anderen nötigen Datein.
- HBB checkt ob der Anwender die aktuellsten Bilddatein hat (gespeicher in /temp) für die Liste. Wenn ein Bild nicht mehr aktuell ist oder nicht vorhanden ist, wird es in den img/ Ordner downgeloaded.
- Wenn man ein Spiel installiert wird die zip Datei downgeloadet, in den richtigen Ordner extrahiert und dann wieder gelöscht.

Wie werden die Homebrewicons gewählt
Wenn keine icon.png Datei bei der Anwendung dabei ist wird eine hinzugefügt, falls eine gefunden werden kann.
Wenn kein Name am Icon ist oder das Bild nicht klar repräsentiert was die Anwendung macht, wird es durch ein Bild mit dem Namen ersetzt.
Ordner benennen der Anwendungen
Ich werde den Ordnernamen verwenden, der verwendet wird wenn man die Anwendung extrahiert. Wenn Leerzeichen verwendet wurden werden diese durch Unterstriche ersetzt. Wenn die Datein nicht in einem Ordner sind wird ein Ordner erstellt. Wenn deine Homebrew Anwendung einen Ordnernamen verwendet hat bevor der HBB kam und diese Anwendung upgedatet wird, wird der User merken, dass es ein Update gibt.
Ein Beispiel ist Masteroids. Dieses Spiel wurde vor dem HBB entwickelt. Sagen wird das Spiel wird upgedatet. Seid sie Ordnernamen verwenden, kann ich einfach die boot.dol/elf Datei am Server ersetzen und die Dateigröße änder. Wenn der User nun den HBB läd, wird dieser merken, dass es eine aktuellere Version gibt.
Um mein Leben einfacher zu machen...
- Füge ein icon.png und eine meta.xml deiner Homebrew Anwendung hinzu.
- Folge dem meta.xml Standard und teste die meta.xml Datei im Hombrew-Kanal.
- Füge ein Datum und eine Versionsnummer deiner Veröffentlichung hinzu, sonst verwende ich die Zeitmarke der boot.dol/elf Datei und bennen sie v0.1.
- Gib die Anwendung in einen Ordner und verpacke diesen. Verwende immer denselben Namen für den Zip Ordner für diese Anwendung.

The Homebrew Browser is a homebrew application made by teknecal that allows you to download homebrew applications through your Wii without the need of downloading through a computer and extracting them to your SD card.

How to Install
Create an /apps folder on the root of your SD card (e.g. E:/apps).
Copy the homebrew_browser folder to the /apps folder on your SD card.
Ensure that the little write lock switch on your SD card is off.
Launch via the Homebrew Channel.
Alternatively, if you load boot.dol using wiiload.exe (included with the Homebrew Channel), and possibly other similar methods, Homebrew Browser will offer to download and install the latest version of itself to your SD card automatically.
Usage
You can view this guide which shows how to use the Homebrew Browser.
- If you are using the Homebrew Channel then extract the homebrew_browser directory from the archive in your apps directory into the root of your SD card.
- Launch Homebrew Browser from Homebrew Channel and your Wii must be connected to the Internet.
- Uses the Wiimote with IR to choose your favorite homebrew application.
- Green Tick - You have the latest version of that homebrew application installed.
- Yellow Question Mark - You might not have the latest version of that homebrew application installed.

How it works
- The Homebrew Browser (HBB) contacts the main server to receive a list of current homebrew applications. The list includes the application names, image file sizes, boot file sizes and whether it is a dol or elf file, as well as the names of any other required files.
- HBB checks to see if the user has the latest image files (stored in apps/homebrew_browser/temp) for all homebrew listed. If the image is out of date or missing, it downloads the image file.
- Once in HBB and when selecting a game to install, it downloads the zip file and downloads the icon.png if needed from the server. It then extracts the zip file and deletes the zip file. When HBB is updating an application it will overwrite any existing files that the application has.

If there is no icon.png file in a homebrew application then an icon is included if one can be found.
Homebrew Application folder naming
I will stick to the folder names used when you extract each homebrew application. Folders with spaces will be replaced with underscores. If your files don't come in a folder, then a folder name will be created. If your homebrew application used a folder name before HBB and you've updated your application, the user will notice that there is an update to your application.
An example is MAsteroids. The game was developed before HBB. Lets say that the game gets updated. Since they are using a folder name, I can simple place the new boot.dol/elf on the server, change the file size and when the user loads HBB it will notice that they have an existing install of MAsteroids and then the user can update to the latest version.
Homebrew Standards
- Include an icon.png and a meta.xml file with your homebrew application. Make sure the icon.png file dimensions is 128 x 48.
- Try to follow the meta.xml standard and test your meta.xml file in HBC.
- Include a date and version number with your homebrew release, otherwise I will use the timestamp from the boot.dol/elf file and name it v0.1 or v1.0.
- Put your homebrew application files into a folder and then zip up that folder. Try to keep using that folder name for the homebrew applications life.

- Added update all applications feature. You access this when clicking on the SD card icon. Once you are shown your applications, the SD card icon changes to an update icon which you can click.
