Hard drive support?

Does it use any HDD file?

The Apple II didn't have a Hard Drive.Pinball wizard 22:32, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

There was a hard drive available for it but they were rare since they were extremely expensive. The emulator supports hard drive images but you'll find a lot more Apple II .dsk images around.

Color?

Does this one take color? I have a few images here (like Oregon Trail) that are in color on the IIgs...will they be green tinted when I run them through here? --Atariangamer 19:34, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it has color support (I will upload more screenshot with colors) --Yohanes 02:51, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Wouldn't that depend on which format the pictures are in. The IIgs had a number of screen resolutions / pallets that the IIe was never close to being capable of. Ensign R 11:49, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Random crashes and sound?

This works brilliantly! I spent 4 hours the other day playing old games! However every now and again, the emulator crashes. It COULD be a memory allocation error (it displays some text a few milliseconds before it crashes but most of the time I can't read what it says as it happens randomly) but I don't know. It's happened using several disks, notably Transylvania and occasionally when I'm writing my own programs in BASIC

I will look into this, I haven't played any game for extensive amount of time using this emulator --Yohanes 02:51, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Please download the latest version and try again, this should fix the crashes

Secondly, is there no sound for this? I played Spy Hunter and there was no sound. Is this coming soon? I hope so.. but fantastic work for now, thanks for restoring my interest in homebrew! :D Grayda 02:43, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes, sound is now supported since 0.0.3 --Yohanes 02:51, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Add IR Wiimote as mouse?

Can you add IR Wiimote as mouse? Duhow

The code is actually already there, but I haven't made the menu for it yet. Currently slot 4 is used for Mockingboard instead of mouse. --Yohanes 15:08, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

I couldn't get past the title screen

It's great that someone has ported an Apple II emulator the the Wii. Well done. However I thought a more obvious name of Apple WIIe would have been sweeter. ;) (although how on earth do you pronounce that?)

Anyhow I was going to fire up a good old game of rescue raiders but I couldn't get past the title screen. ie Pressing F2 doesn't work when you see the picture of the IIe.

I am not sure if it was a problem with my keyboard (which does work in the Internet Channel etc, but doesn't have any of its status lights on in Wii Apple) or because I am unfortunately using System 3.4E or something else entirely.

Oh well, I was a IIgs man myself, maybe someone will port Kegs.. or if I ever finish my current project I might delve into the world of WiiBrewing and give it go.

cheers Ensign R 11:41, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

System 6

How about system 6 and HDDs? I got the GS System 6.0.1 and a HDD image, would they work? Or do you have no idea XD btw, they're all at the Virtual Apple 2: http://www.virtualapple.org/2gslistS.html --Atariangamer 19:59, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

System 6 (aka GS/OS) was a GS specific OS. AFAIK this is an Apple IIe emulator, not an Apple IIgs emu. GS/OS is a 16-bit OS made specifically for the Apple IIgs and will not run on an 8-bit Apple IIe. If you want to play around with GS/OS try Kegs on your computer. It's a pretty neat IIgs emulator. Its a pity this isn't a port of Kegs, as a port of Kegs would enable not only IIgs emulation, but IIe/c emulation as well, as the IIgs, and therefore kegs, can also run IIe software (natively). (Please don't read that as a complaint against WiiApple) Ensign R 08:41, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
