New Update, 10/23/08

There's some kind of new update, starting around 12AM EST on 10/23/08, the Wii Shop Channel started telling me that I needed to update my Wii to access it (I'm on 3.2U).

From Shop Channel: "There is an update to the Wii Shop Channel! To receive this update, go to Wii Settings and select Wii System Update. When you return to the Wii Shop Channel, you will receive the update. Come back after you've updated!"

What I don't know, is if this is actually a new update, 3.4, or just an attempt to get everyone on 3.3

If it is 3.4, this should get added to the list. -Isaac356 04:35, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

New Update, 1/11/08

It probably is, though I maybe wrong, because I don't look inside the Wii. If anyone does make the section, make sure you put "Second attempt at..." in the info box. That way it will look neat. --AledTH 15:26, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Menus on Wii discs

I received my Wii/Netflix disc, on it was system menu 4.1U. I updated no problem, but I got to thinking - it'd be nice if there was a database somewhere of what discs contain what system menus. Is there such a database? Would WiiBrew be an appropriate place to host such information? Hobyrne 18:37, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

The best we have right now is the Disc based games page. I just added the Netflix update info (based on others' accounts), and a few other games. --Dialexio 22:57, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

It's Too Quiet...

Hmm...It's been a year since Nintendo updated their system to try and ruin the Homebrew community. No new System Menu 4.4. Could be because the Wii U has been the primary focus for right now. Well that's a good thing. --Wildgoosespeeder 21:59, 31 July 2011 (CEST)

System Menu version names

where do these come from Hallowizer? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DacoTaco (talkcontribs)

They’re just logical names because there are no official names for them. Hallowizer (talk) 23:57, 11 September 2021 (CEST)
Oh wait, do you mean the 11U, etc? Each region has an offset (Japan is +0, USA is +1, Europe is +2, Korea is something like +6). Subtract that offset, then divide by 32.
Ok, but where does that come from? this is the first time ive seen this and im kinda confused where this comes from, is shown or used?? DacoTaco (talk) 00:30, 12 September 2021 (CEST)
Not that I've seen anywhere. It does make the versioning system simpler though. Hallowizer (talk) 01:06, 12 September 2021 (CEST)
If it's not part of anything wii related and kinda made up, i would suggest to remove it. its confusing to have multiple 'version names' and has no use either.
the 32 thing seems to hold some merit, but there are to many cases where this is just not true to be 32 per version DacoTaco (talk) 10:16, 12 September 2021 (CEST)
