Sleeper app

This app has been a bit of a sleeper. I had to find it on slashdot? really? It can run original games in arbitrary resolutions, and at least system menu 1.0.

I think it's presence should be improved a tad. [and maybe tracked in the HB release on mainpage? too bold for me to do.] PidGin128 03:06, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Article

I placed NOEDITSECTION at the head of the article, since I suspect my infobox shenanigans are making the section edit links float around.

Some of my category choices may not be the best, or at least somewhat vague/confusing, since executing code on a wii is more common on this wiki. PidGin128 04:09, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

I removed the NOEDITSECTION, and move the screenshot to the bottom, to stop the sections edit links from floating around. LoganA (talkcontribs) 06:01, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Nomination Page

Just referencing it here for convenience. PidGin128 04:28, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Template application

According to this dolphin forum thread actually the template application shows the "Hello world" if the checkbox "Use Real XFB" under OpenGL Plugin Configuration dialog, in Options -> Configure -> Graphics, is checked. It has been tested on Ubuntu 10.04 with Dolphin SVN R 5642M-release version on a PC with ATI x1600 (OpenGL by MESA and not proprietary driver) —Preceding unsigned comment added by MarioStamina (talkcontribs) 18:29, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Homebrew emulation

The best version to emulate homebrews is 3.5. In the following versions wiimote is not detected.

This is the best configuratio on Windows:

Audio: DSP LLE ricompiler

Backend: Direct 3D11

Texture cache accuracy: safe

External framebuffer: real

Warez?

Dolphin also loads WADs and ISOs. Hallowizer (talk) 20:36, 30 April 2021 (CEST)

If you select "Help → About", Dolphin mentions that "This software should not be used to play games you do not legally own." Furthermore, Dolphin tells you how to rip games (using e.g. CleanRip). I think it would be quite stupid to remove it just because it can also be used for piracy. --Pokechu22 (talk) 02:55, 1 May 2021 (CEST)
Backup loaders are also prohibited on WiiBrew, even ones like ███ ██████ ██ that also let you create backups. Hallowizer (talk) 03:16, 1 May 2021 (CEST)
And? I still think deleting this page would be really silly and would benefit nobody (only harming developers and legitimate users). The argument is almost as strong for deleting Homebrew Channel because it could be used to load ███ ██████ ██ and there are other sites that explain how to use it for piracy. --Pokechu22 (talk) 07:45, 1 May 2021 (CEST)
To give a slightly better argument, members of fail0verflow have contributed to Dolphin, including bushing and marcan. I don't think they would have done that if it went against their piracy code so I think it should still be fine on WiiBrew. --Pokechu22 (talk) 08:11, 1 May 2021 (CEST)
To Further argument Pokechu22's argument i'd like to add that Dolphin can be a very helpful tool in learning how the wii works and/or debugging tool. I have used it a LOT to debug Priiloader and used it extensively when i was developing the binary loader i made for priiloader last year (to check registers and system state during the loading). Yes warez are bad and any mention of them should be removed and/or banned but Dolphin is more than that. --DacoTaco (talk) 08:38, 1 May 2021 (CEST)
