Talk:DOSBox Wii/Compatibility List
Providing further information
Any suggestions for a suitable place/format for providing more detail/resources for specific games? E.g. I found that Pushover hangs for me after a few minutes if I don't disable sound; it can't be started without a keyboard attached; joystick as control method works without a hitch. I've also created an icon.png/meta.xml/dosbox.conf for use with the Homebrew Channel now that you can directly load a DOS game via DOSBox. -- Insin 01:35, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Windows Games
Why is there "Chip's Challenge" and "SimCity Classic" on the list, with the error reported: "This application requires Microsoft Windows." ? Those are obviously not DOS games, and don't even belong in the list at all..... --Mr. Reaper 15:16, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Then remove them! --Tantric 17:49, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- But I'm realllly lazy! And I just wanted to draw extra attention to them so more like that don't get added.... --Mr. Reaper 02:23, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Seeing how this is about Windows 3.1, why not just set windows to use EGA MODE. VGA does not work under dosbox Wii with a certain resolution. Windows does indeed load in fact i even played chips challenge with sound. Ratix 08:32, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- Now with the latest update the Black Screen issue now fixed we can use windows 3.1, can anyone else besides me confirm this? Ratix 07:44, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Game Testing
I have some contradictory information about "Cannon Fodder 1". This game seems to work just fine on my PAL Wii. So I will change the information in the list. If anybody finds this game NOT to work, download another version of the game and try again.. --TheBLUEBIRD 17:26, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Krondor is working under dosbox as long as you load from the SD card itself. Seems like there is a usb issue causing a pause in emulation. --Ratix —Preceding undated comment added 23:53, 11 August 2009 (UTC).
- Working for me too, in the newest version. Status updated.--Odiferous 23:03, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

I've been recently screwing around in tandy mode on dosbox Wii and discovered any sierra AGI game has all the graphics all garbled up and text boxes unreadable. no amount of messing with the fullscreen res can fix it. if i find any more games that yield this i shall report here about it. --Ratix 14:08, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- Tandy is completely broken all games that can use tandy are not functioning as the graphics are all jaded and text unreadable when in a game. Almost all sierra games that use this are unplayable. other games that are effected by this are tapper, stunts, marble madness, and any other game that is tandy specific. the same effect is shown in pcjr mode. example1 Example2 --Ratix 16:57, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
I've been tweaking the configuration file again and made changes for better smoother gameplay. Pretty much all games that require a 386 machine should be working flawlessly. Sometime soon i hope to update the compatibility list with the update of "fully working" with no hangups. Examples of games that were a bit choppy, Wolfenstein 3d, spear of destiny, stunts, and raptor. This app has made excellent progress and I'm happy to see it improve so much. Confirmed means confirmed.
You aren't the first person to confirm it when you add a game to the list. You're the first person to report it, and it is unconfirmed. Just so we're clear, upon adding a new game to the list, there should be 0 confirmations. Vague Rant 07:58, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- does this apply to the games that get updated when played on the latest build? i've added three games to the list and made adjustments to many other games on the list that were listed as working but not quite on par with what it should be. blake stone and raptor to name a few Ratix (talk) 16:32, 10 June 2014 (CEST)
Version Number
It would be nice to have a space in the compatibility chart to list what version of DOS Box a game was tested under. Especially with small speed increases and other little changes happening, games that kind of worked before are likely to work now. However unless you tested the games yourself you likely have no idea what version it was tested with. TheTome —Preceding undated comment added 18:40, 10 October 2009 (UTC).
