:I doubt it - preloader patches 4.0; a fresh 4.0 (or even 4.1) install overwrites preloader. Not sure if you can install preloader on top of 4.1 Kixy 14:48, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

::I am not encouraging an install, but I think Preloader would install fine on 4.1. The Preloader installer does not check for your System Menu version (it installs on 3.3). To work on 4.0, the installer needs to patch IOS60, then do its magic with the System Menu. Same thing will go for 4.1, since it uses the same IOS60. The only issue is there won't be any hacks for a (little) while like removing the health screen warning. --Dialexio 04:12, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

:::I thought the preloader was supposed to MOVE the system menu in another place. Am I right? If so, then it shall not work with this new update.Sonic4Ever 08:05, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Should I update to 4.1 from 4.0, I don't think I'll get "Wii Sports Resort" anytime soon so the update would be useless... —Preceding unsigned comment added by JackMan64 (talk • contribs) 15:37, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

::3.2 didn't block the Twilight Hack in any way. (System Menu 3.2 was released a week after the Twilight Hack. It had no anti-hack code.) All this update does is fixes the Wii Sports Resort video bug. --Dialexio 22:09, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Will there be a a chance of it bricking if I was to use Bannerbomb on it? Plus it would be the first time if I homebrewed my Wii... —Preceding unsigned comment added by RPD490 (talk • contribs) 00:58, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

I have a bricked wii, and the only thing it says when I boot it is "The system files are corrupted". I can access the Savemii menu, but I need a game disc with the new 4.1 menu update to load the wad. Can anyone tell me a game that has the update; (maybe wii sports resort?).

Wow, that sounds really easy. Could you give me an iso, aswell as instructions on how to burn/which chip to purchase? I was thinking the drive key. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Flablebable (talk • contribs) 20:15, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

I currently have a softmodded wii (i.e. no chip installed) and has previously updated the Wii "manually" to v. 4.0u using a guide i found. I'm unsure though if i can update the Wii using the Wii System Update, in the Wii System Menu, without affecting Homebrew Channel and various other wads I have installed? --Mgarde 07:43, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

:Mgarde: I would not ever update through the System Menu, as there will undoubtedly be some homebrew "fix" in every update from now on. Not to mention the fact that a SM update checks for the newest version of every piece of software related to running the Wii, not just the one that the update message mentions. Just do the manual update for 4.1 like you did for 4.0, and you'll be good to go (I know, I did it myself). Molokai 03:57, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

:: Thank you. This was exactly the info i was searching for, as it wasn't immediately obvious to me, although i thought it might be the case. It was the section about Unaffected Hombrew that confused me. --Mgarde 07:52, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
