LAN "Virtual Server"
+
It'd be cool if it was possible to create a "virtual server" for HBB on your LAN. I have 3 wii's, and it takes forever on my internet connection to download stuff from codemii.com (heck, the domain takes almost a minute to resolve when I start HBB). On the other hand, i can transfer a 528MB bootmii nand dump in about a minute between systems on the network.

What I'm proposing is that I can download applications/updates to apps to one Wii (thereby waiting only once for your servers), and designate that wii as a server. HBBs on the other wii's on my network can be pointed to that wii via IP address, and can receive the updated software from it, without ever going out to codemii.com.

For instance, all 3 of my wii's have FTPii, SNES9x, and some others on them. With this, I would download the updates to one wii from codemii, and tell the other wii's to get it from the one i updated. At the speeds i mentioned above, a few apps like SNES9x and ftpii should update in about 15 seconds from something on my network. I currently wait almost 15 minutes per wii to download updated apps, even if i do it at 1:00am on Saturday mornings!

Options to see "unsafe apps"
It would be great to have an option to see or not "unsafe apps" deliberately not included in HBB like WiiSCU or Starfall. --Sca.nab 12:39, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
