+::If it contains any code from the previous gpl'd version, then the new source must also be released under the gpl. So a nearly complete re-write is not enough. It must be 100% re-written in order to allow the app to be closed source. At least that is my understanding. Correct me if I am wrong. --[[User:Flark|Flark]] 00:37, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Exactly, pirates would just want the features from 1.8 incorporating into the wii backup loader, it's their decision to keep it closed source, (for now) at the moment brkirch said.
