I kinda like having the terminal pop up to show what it's doing. It also helps users to debug what may be going wrong such as when Teknecal forgot to upload an image. GUI - but if there's an error (i.e. like Linux with its bootsplash) bring up the terminal and display. Alternatively, you could check for a file in the folder where the HBB is stored (say ilikemyterminal) and if so, then leave it at terminal.
