Bluetooth is the technology that is used for communication between the Wii and the Wiimote. It is an industrial specification that is used primarily in close proximity wireless devices, such as cell phones and the Wiimote.
The Bluetooth is an specification that can be used on various platforms, such as PCs, Macs, and Linux (via the BlueZ stack).
Wiimote
The Wiimote communicates with the Wii via Bluetooth. The Wii is able to communicate with up to 4 Wiimotes, although the specification does allow more devices to connect. Various programs and "Wiimote Drivers" have been created for the computer that allows interaction with the Wiimote as a pointing device.
