Bug in WiiMC v1.1.0

Hi, I have just installed version 1.1.0 This version failed to attach my 0.5TB USB disk. The previous release worked fine. What could be wrong. I see the following happing. When I started WiiMC I see a black screen, the USB harddisk shows disk activity. This activity continues forever. Looks like that the hole disk is read. After waiting for 3 minutes I switch off the disk the WiiMC opening screen is showed. The same problem issues happens in the Snes9x GX 4.2.5, FCE Ultra GX 3.2.3, Visual Boy Advance GX so it looks like a bug in the FAT library. Looking forward to your response? Wplaat 19:04, 11 October 2010 (CEST)

That's a compatibility issue with usbstorage.c in libogc. Nothing I can do from the WiiMC-side of things. You'll just have to wait and hope it gets resolved there. --Tantric 19:42, 11 October 2010 (CEST)
Hi, thanks for the fast response. I hope this issue will be fix in the usbstorage.c (were can i post a issue for this) as soon as possible. In the mean time i have rollback the installation. Now running again on previous release! Wplaat 19:13, 12 October 2010 (CEST)

zapper

the zapper is juste wimmote and nunchuk for aim en shoot and snes9x 005 support the superscope from nintendo with the wiimote to aim, no? - Yod4z GMT+1 02:39

That's exactly what the zapper is, but snes9x 005 (and the other emulators) do not support using the nunchuk for shooting, which is crucial to using the zapper shell. They do support using JUST the wiimote for aiming AND shooting. There's no special wiibrew icon for this though! --Tantric 01:22, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

What about third party products' (like Nyko's handgun shell)? Flark 00:55, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Sure, Nyko's shell works fine, now that the B button is mapped for shooting. But I still really think advertising the emulators as having 'zapper' support is a bit of a misnomer, given they don't use the nunchuck. The zapper was more designed for 3D shootings, like Resident Evil or Quake. --Tantric 02:18, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Then perhaps an alternative is needed? The closest existing icon is Wii Remote Aim. Perhaps something similar? Flark 02:26, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
That kinds of works, since really what should be advertised is that they support aiming with the Wiimote, not that they 'support' one piece of plastic or another. I think wiibrew needs a 'Wiimote aiming' peripheral added to Template:Infobox_homebrew --Tantric 02:56, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
How do you feel about a simple circle crosshair? It's probably the easiest to make and most readily recognizable symbol. Plus I am new to inkscape. Flark 03:02, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Sounds good to me, go for it! --Tantric 03:03, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Uploaded WiimoteTargeting.svg. Tag, you're it. I sure hope people don't get confused over this. Flark 04:05, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
On second thought, maybe it should have been named WiimoteShooting.svg to be more clear... Too bad I can't delete it now. Flark 04:08, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

In Link's Crossbow Training, the nunchuk is used for moving and zooming, it is not used for shooting. So I disagree with your "crucial" statement. --Pepsiman 08:45, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

My point is this. Zapper - nunchuk used for moving, nunchuk C Z buttons used for something in the game, and wiimote B button is trigger. No other buttons are meant for use from the wiimote, only the B button. Emulators, the nunchuk isn't used for ANYTHING (when in lightgun/scope/mouse/etc mode), and trigger is A (for most games I think?). How does this make the emulators 'compatible' with the zapper? It doesn't. --Tantric 16:44, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Now that the sensor bar peripheral is finished and in use, I was finally able to remove the zapper peripheral from all apps (that I could find) which did not fully support it. I marked the WiimoteTargeting.svg and Template:WiimotePointing pages for deletion. We got off to the wrong start but now everything is sorted afaik. Nothing is using them now and as far as I know, the zapper is no longer used on any pages where it is not technically supported. Flark 00:01, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

BTW, it may take a little while for the server side cache to catch up to all of the changes. Flark 00:13, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories

Hey dude, KH CoM is not working on VBA GX! Can you fix it? The rom size is 32,00MB and i tested it on VBA for computer and it worked. Help!Sunshiner123 15:32, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

DDR pad

I believe it is crucual to get support for DDR pad in FCE Ultra to be able to play world class track meet currently there is no way to actually play that rom that im aware of please ocntact me about this also i am a graphic designer if you need work done Bdemm32@comcast.net

Need an artist?

Hi, I'm talented (In my opinion obviously.) My main work is in Paint.NET and 3D modeling programs for pre-rendered objects. Myself in Super Mario Kart. I can work with little resources, as you can see. Everybody uses the same palette as who they have replaced, and fit perfect. Tails used the original 3D model used to make sprites on the Genesis, I heard, but I don't know. It's a good model, anyways. Toejam was hand made in about 10 minutes. I also made Yoshi's head entirely from gradients in Paint.NET. Picture here. I made an icon for Iiii here. I make many icons, sprites, offers, etc. but everybody rejects them... Well I hope to get a response. retrotails@yahoo.com--retrotails 06:47, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi there! Your work looks good, and I appreciate the offer. But, the artwork for the new versions is already finished. --Tantric 18:22, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Bug in SnesGX 4.0

If the HQ2X is on (standard, soft or bold, it doesn't matter) Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu will crash after the logo. I suppose it to be because any memory leak affecting SRAM loading. Panreyes 00:17, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Helping other emulators

I was wondering if you ever thought of helping other Wii emulators, like Hugo, or Genesis Plus with their interfaces, or other problems. I love the new Snes9xGX 4.0.0 interface, and it would be simply awesome if all emulators had a uniform look, and layout. Also I haven't seen much effort by some emulator to support things like SMB servers, or other features. Have you thought of helping some of these emulators. --Piko

I've thought about it. Those two you mention are maintained by eke-eke, who is very capable. I've offered my help already; it's up to him to decide if he needs/wants it. --Tantric 18:20, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

SDL wii repository

I want to join the sdl svn repository... Maybe you can add this ? File:SDL Image.zip —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheDrev (talkcontribs) 08:30, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Great! What I need is your Google Account to add you. Perhaps email me yours to dborth [at] gmail [dot] com. Is that SDL image any different from the SVN version? The SVN has PNG and JPEG support. --Tantric 15:40, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for all the emulators, and especially VBA GX 2 you just released! You deserve thanks for all your hard gui, porting, and other work! Surely you are a favorite around here considering the popularity and well made stuff you're putting out, yeah? gllt 08:17, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Concerning rumble in your apps using libwiigui

I don't know if it ever occured to you, but some people consider the rumble feature to be quite an annoyance. Most homebrew apps that use rumble have the option to disable it, either by respecting the Wii System Menu rumble configuration or by giving the user a separate in-menu setting within their app. Please add the option to disable rumble in the apps you are currently using libwiigui with. --Flark 10:52, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't know whether you did it because I asked or whether you were originally intending to get around to adding it anyway, but either way, thanks very much for adding the option to turn off rumble. :) --Flark 21:10, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Saving Problem in 4.0.4

hi i have played snes9x GX 4.0.4 very much and i love it thanks but for some reason my saves have been disappearing mysteriously, like in Earthbound i had a save but one day it wasn't there, this also happened to Secret Of Mana and also when i tried to load a snapshot in Mega Man X3 it said "error loading file" i have done nothing to my saves!

this happened to my friend too, has this ever happened to you too?--NintendoLover64 13:27, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Userboxen

Thanks for fixing userboxes on my user page. I was planning on doing it myself tomorrow; late nights are not conducive to CSSing for me. (: --IanWatson 06:02, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for updating my User page

Thank you for adding the WiiBrew admin userbox to my User page. LoganA (talkcontribs) 13:31, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

WiiBuilder

Tantric, WiiBuilder is a loader like Wiiload, WiiTCPLoad, WiiTCPLoadGUI, TCP_Loader and much more... Is there something I'm missing? Crayon 18:25, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, you're missing the fact that I missed that fact. Reverted. --Tantric 18:27, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, BTW I really like all your project and I'm currently trying to port a game with SDL Wii (when I'm not playing Super Mario War Wii or NES games on FCE Ultra GX). --Crayon 18:36, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Crazy Intro

There is a warning banner in the Crazy Intro page added by you. My application doesn't directly store anything in nand, It does indeed uses fakesigning but I can't see the same warning page in several exploits & applications that use fakesigning too...namely twilight hack, bootmii installer, bannerbomb, FTPii... probably much much more... there is I guess a misunderstanding there... --I R on 13:55, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

I guess this is because you use Preloader for that application, and I think the "Install the CrazyIntro.dol using "install/load dol File" feature of Preloader.." installation step installs something to the NAND. --Daid 15:40, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Like Daid said, your application does end up on the wii NAND. This is done by preloader, so I personally think you should not have the warning.
As for fakesigning, your app does not use it directly. Only preloader needs fakesigning to get installed, I find it very hard to believe that Crediar would make the dol loader in preloader check for signing.
Furthermore, NONE of the apps and exploits you listed use fakesigning. The HBC installer used to use it before beta 9, but you didn't even list that one :P Yossi 19:40, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

You are right, actually it doesn't use fakesigning but just using menu tickets to identify as menu. The only case that something could be written into nand is when it can't identify as menu due to access restriction which is reported to the nanderr.log file in the nand... but I don't think that warrants a brick warning... it's the same for any application using any ES call... About preloader case, preloader itself has a warning for bricks, copying of the dol file is done by preloader, not by my application... though will be of no use, you can launch my application from hbc. it doesn't do anything that could brick one's wii. And again about the preloader case, analogy goes like this : your friend step into your car that has faulty brakes and also has an addon steering wheel which is known to be harmless... how would you go about warning your friend? And to a degree I can understand an indirect warning may be necessary in that context but that text in the warning banner doesn't fit much into this case.I R on 15:39, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
It's not a "brick" warning - there's no mention of anything like that - just that it modifies the NAND, whether it be directly or indirectly (by way of another tool it utilizes). --Tantric 15:42, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Well but it's illogical, yes my app is designed to be used along with preloader but you can use any application as autoboot with preloader. Still, why more dangerous applications don't have any warning? for ex. bootmii installer? twilight hack? --I R on 21:06, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Wiibrator

This page shouldn't have been deleted. I remember there being some source code up there and I went looking for it, only to find the page deleted. I wanted to edit the app to make it more useful. I'm pretty new to wikis so I can't figure out how to undelete the page or revert changes. Christophocles 22:06, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Super Mario War Wii

Hello, I have been playing Super Mario War Wii and it is great! I have a couple requests though. Could you please add in the 8 characters: Shadow the Hedgehog Silver the Hedgehog Clone Trooper Battle Droid Sora Riku Spongebob Patrick

Also the following stage: Krusty Krab

I would also like you to make a feature to where you can play your own music in mp3 format because the music isn't all that good in my opinion.

I know you only ported the game and didn't make it, but can you please try to put in these extra additions.

P.S. You can forget the Spongebob stuff if you want to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chaoboy (talkcontribs) 23:08, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

I want some megaman in there. Can you put some megaman in there for me? -- MetaFight 23:56, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
why wuld he add them? its not even from mario! and the game is named super mario war--pbsds 10:42, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
*Whoosh* is the sound of a joke going over your head. I wasn't seriously asking for megaman. I was trying to point out the absurdity of requesting new content/features in a ported game. Sometimes people ask for more more MORE without even offering to help. Sometimes those requests are so ludicrously pointless, or just way too much work to be worth implementing, that I just have to laugh a bit. My previous post about megaman was a joke. I'm fairly certain Tantric got it because we've joked around about such things before. -- MetaFight 14:25, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
You should make this in 3D. I really like 3D games and 2D is soooooooooooooooo lame now. -- MetaFight 14:25, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I would also like the color of some characters changed, but I can do that myself. I will just send you the sprites, if that's okay with you. Oh, and pbsds, I know it is called Super Mario War, but there are characters other than Mario characters. I would love to make the sprites myself, but I'm not good at pixel art (or whatever it is called), but I can change the colors fine, and I don't know how to edit the music stuff. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chaoboy (talkcontribs) 22:37, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Pictures

Tantric, I've started making up some images for emulators based on the Classic Controller. I've designed them primarily as optional icons, but I'm making them fairly large so others can use them for whatever they like. I don't know; perhaps for an on-screen display for assigning buttons.

FCE Ultra GX

Just giving you a heads-up. Currently I have one for FCE Ultra GX and a GameCube-themed one, with others in the pipeline. Hope you find it useful. --IanWatson 04:14, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Kill joy

I just noticed that you removed my beloved WarezInstaller! But why? --Pinecone 21:49, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

So, Tantric...

Have u had any kind of a peek at porting(rewriting)M.U.G.E.N? I'm relatively new to it but it seems like theres a strong community on t'web. I hate begging messages - that's not what this is. I wondered whether you had investigated the viability of porting (and improving) Infinitycat etc. for the wii. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steviethemusical (talkcontribs) 18:24, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Together we managed to trash a whole load of people's homebrew. Well done us! First I broke all the links, then you deleted all the downloads because they were unused. --Lukegb 09:56, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

GX Emulators

Are there plans to add USB 2.0 support for Visual Boy Advance GX, Snes9x GX, and FCE Ultra GX? USB 2.0 is overkill but widens USB compatibilty.

The GX emulators won't recognize my USB hard drive, but MPlayer CE does. I'm guessing because of USB 2.0 support. --ceevee 20:33, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Only if this support becomes built-in to libogc. Which might not happen for a little while yet. --Tantric 21:36, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

It wouldnt be to hard to compile dosbox with the latest libs such as (SDL ect.). Thank You i do it myself but i dont know how to code or anything really but im learning. :) -- Gamewizard71 00:18, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Snes9x GX 4.1.0 doesn't load

The latest update to Snes9x GX doesn't appear to load on my Wii and i'm at a loss of what to do from here. What's very confusing is that previous version 4.0.9 and below seem to work just fine without any trouble at all, however when i update to the recently released version it refuses to load the application and simply sits at a black screen after it's done "loading" from the Homebrew Channel. Do you have any advice on where i should go from here? Thanks in advance - —Preceding unsigned comment added by IxisNaugus (talkcontribs) 22:42, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

After upgrading from Snes GX 4.1.0 to 4.1.1 I notice it takes a lot longer to save state files. I went back to using 4.1.0 since I didn't have the black screen problem.

Also, FCE Ultra GX 3.0.9 does not seem to save any options.... I go in and change Cropping, Sprite Limit, and Controller Configuration for the Classic Controller, but when I close and restart the emulator, everything resets to default. Going back to 3.0.8 fixes the problem.... --Mr. Reaper 16:49, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

All Gx emulators not recognizing my file types

I stream my files via smb and mysteriously today they longer open up in any Gx program. Even my gameboy roms, which are unzipped, do not open in VBA Gx. I get the error message "Cannot open file" or "Unknown File Type". I have used my Gx programs for months now without a problem. This problem started, coincidentally or not, when I updated my Gx programs. It started with Snes9x Gx. I am running system menu 4.0 and the files I stream are all zipped, except for gameboy roms. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Omnipotentorion (talkcontribs) 23:00, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Request to reduce the mess on SD card

Hello Tantric,

Thank you very much for all your apps. I have the following request for you to possibly start a new trend. Is it possible to start putting all the data files inside one directory on sd card? Currently I got apps/ folder, but also all the folders for each of the applications in the root of the SD card. So would it be possible to start a new directory, let's say "appdata", in the root and put all the data files in it. So the root of the SD card would look like this:

SD:

\- apps

\- fceugx
\- vbagx
\- Snes9xGX

\- appdata

\- fceugx (<- instead of just SD:\snes9x)
\- vbagx (<- instead of just SD:\vbagx)
\- Snes9xGX (<- instead of just SD:\snes9x)

I believe that if you start doing this and since you the author of some of most popular homebrew, others will follow and that will effectively reduce clutter on SD cards. -- Spec 16:33, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

For that matter, why not just have EVERYTHING inside one application folder for each game? Like:

\- apps

\- fceugx
\ - roms
\ - cheats
\ - saves

--Mr. Reaper 22:34, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

The second proposal is a bit problematic if you have multiple versions of an application installed (for example because of some fork). Then you'd have to copy the roms as well for each of these. I agree that the layout is nice, but without symlinks it's not perfect I think. SimonKagstrom 07:08, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
I didn't get the point re the symlinks, but for the rest this was exactly my thinking. If you perform upgrade you can safely delete the "program files" meaning the stuff in sd:/apps/application, and you are sure that your data and settings are safely preserved in sd:/appdata/application. This is actually what is happening right now except the data and settings are kept in the root of sd:/ which causes a mess on the sd card. Simon, perhaps you could put data and settings in your apps in their next release? I'm planning to do that for Fuse in future. -- Spec 16:28, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
Actually the settings file for fceugx is already stored in sd:/apps/fceugx and it is never overwritten by new versions (my old settings stay), since settings.xml is created from scratch or modified when the program is ran. Also, fceugx has a file browser so that you can naigate to any folder that contains your ROMs, and it remembers what folder you navigate to even after you turn it off. So there's no problem having more than one version of the application on your SD card, since they can each be set to read the ROMs from a single folder (and Save/Load folders can also be configured in the menu). --Mr. Reaper 19:50, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
fceugx was just an example - you cannot guarantee that all the applications have capability of going into parent directory and then saving the last directory opened, and I'm proposing to use /appdata for all applications. Also to Simon's point if you want to have 2 versions of same application on SD (like stable and beta for testing) use 1 data directory in the case you're proposing you would need to make a copy of that data directory into each /apps/.... directory. I actually think that what you proposing was the case for early homebrew application but that idea just failed. I'm not proposing anything drastically different, just cleanup of the sd card. -- Spec 04:18, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Spec: My point was actually _not_ storing the data in the /apps/application/ directory :-). /appdata would be fine by me, but on the other hand I don't think cluttering the root is such a big problem either SimonKagstrom 05:18, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Obviously whether the problem is big or not is relative, but as an example: for Tantric: vbagx creates /vbagx in the root, snes9x creates /snes9x, fceugx creates /fceugx, DOSBox creates /DOSBox, for you uae creates /uae (Frodo seems to use /apps directory for data). So just for 2 of you and Tantric I get 5 directories in the root. What if I have 20 applications? and then I also have /bootmii, let's say /mp3, maybe /video ... it adds up. -- Spec 16:53, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

SNES9XGX and VBAGX 4.12 Don't Sync With My Wii Remote

I start up Loadmii and the Wii Remote works. I start up Snes9xGX and the remote refuses to sync up again. I also have this problem with VBAGX. Xnamkcor

That's a problem with LoadMii not reloading an IOS, not with my apps. You will find all newly released apps will break until LoadMii is fixed. --Tantric 17:18, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
If I went back to an older version of Snes9xGX, would that solve it? Xnamkcor
Yes. --Tantric 18:17, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
Now it SMB doesn't work. Oh well. Xnamkcor 19:44, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

RE: Release names

Where was the discussion, because I don't see it anywhere. 「ɠu¹ɖяy」 02:09, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

On IRC. If you wish to discuss it, you can put forth your arguments on the talk page. --Tantric 02:14, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Well, these types of discussions/decisions should not occur on IRC, it alienates the community, that were not in the discussion, due to, A) unawareness of discussion, or, B) unable to attend due to current life situations. Wiibrew is a community; if the community is ill-informed, then how are they able to contribute? This is my second experience of the elitist, secret society that Wiibrew has presented me in the last two weeks & it has really made second guess if I really want to be apart of it. 「ɠu¹ɖяy」 03:54, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Making wiki changes typically doesn't require group discussion. If a person doesn't like a particular change, they should discuss it on that article's Talk page. This rule applies to all Wiibrew users equally. This is the second time you've bypassed discussion and simply reverted the change. --Tantric 04:30, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
How have I "bypassed" discussion, when there was no public, easy access discussion when there weren't any in the first place. The edits I have done with the the Homebrew Release announcements have simply conformed the rhythms of the past. But I must not be "in" enough to be inducted into the secret, "behind the scene" cliche, which merely means my discussion(s) will be completely futile against the wolves, anyway. 「ɠu¹ɖяy」 04:48, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Take some deep breaths and re-evaluate. If you want to debate the merits of different approaches to listing releases, the appropriate place is the talk page for that article. It is not appropriate to engage in an edit war, nor is it appropriate to get all huffy and paranoid. -- Bushing 05:06, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
I'm not getting "all huffy and paranoid". Maybe if there had been a discussion on the talk page about the formatting of the Hombrew Release announcements, instead of an unannounced IRC chat, this discussion would have not occurred in the first place, but no, not on Wiibrew. 「ɠu¹ɖяy」 05:17, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
YAY! I get ganged on yet again by the cliche! 「ɠu¹ɖяy」 06:08, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

VBA GX link?

There is a pc GBA emulator known as VBALink http://www.vbalink.info/, would it be possible to do something similar for VBA GX, something that splits the screen depending on how many GBA are set as linked up? Four swords and other link games/functionality would then be available. Delpheas 13:00, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Me = Supports this idea. But since most of the games use about all the power the Wii has, it would be really laggy with 4 games a the same time! So i don't think this will happen, but you can hope, right?--pbsds 14:01, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Wii VBAGX Zelda: Minish Cap crash

Tantric, great job on all the emulators. Thanks. What I'm about to report, I'm pretty sure, is a problem with the code 'upstream' from you, not with your port of VBAGX to the Wii.

Scenario: I'm playing Zelda: Minish Cap, I go to the inventory screen, and save a snapshot. Problem: Every time I try and load that snapshot, the emulator hangs. If you can reproduce this, and report it to upstream coders, the report would carry more weight.

Not urgent, since it's an easily bypassable bug... if only I can remember not to save while at the inventory screen.

Have you thought of doing these projects?

I was wondering if you would ever think to take a crack at a sega system emulator. I love how you make your GUI. After using your emulators I cant use anything else without becoming frustrated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SuicidalMind (talkcontribs) 01:46, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

The One Nintendo Emulator

I don't suppose you could just combine all 3 of your Nintendo emulators into The One Super Mega Nintendo Emulator...? It's just that every time you make an update, I have to download all 3 of them again on my sloooow 56k connection (twice this week!), and I know the bulk of it is in the GUI, so I'm basically downloading the same GUI 3 times.... so, like.... Just combine them all onto One awsome emulator! ... Just a thought.... --Mr. Reaper 05:36, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I love this idea! SuicidalMind 06:02, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

SMB support broken in GX emulators and Mplayer CE?

Am I the only person with this problem? WinXP shares cannot be accessed by my Wii. Connection is good; Wii can access internet. Shares are good; they can be accessed by other windows and mac computers. My Wii used to be able to access the shares OK, but I recently noticed they have ceased to work. The only thing I have changed is a HBC update and a big update through Homebrew Browser for several apps. Please help!

Fixed it. I was sharing a whole TB drive, it used to share fine, but then Mplayer stopped accessing it. I created several smaller shares and it now works fine again. Is there a file limit in the SMB implementation? --Ogl 00:14, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Favorites function for Emulators

Gamecube Homebrew support

Hello ! I want to know if you continue to support the GameCube ; so if Snes9x GX, FCE Ultra GX, Visual Boy Advance GX were going to still be updated for this platform. Thank you very much for your answer. LunaVorax —Preceding undated comment added 09:51, 10 April 2010 (UTC).

Request.

Hi, is there any way you'll add a feature to WiiMC To Make It Boot DOL/ELF's And Real Games? if you will, i won't ever see the wii sys menu again. --Calthephenom 21:04, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Unblock Keyboard Mouse

Can you unblock my alternate account? I am going to have it renamed. Keyboard mouse 18:56, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

One of your accounts will be blocked. Which do you want? Keyboard mouse or Keyboard Mouse? --Tantric 21:50, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
I want Keyboard Mouse to be blocked because I was going to use it as my alternate in the first place, but I didn't know that editors cannot use multiple accounts to contribute. I thought it meant that the names cannot be too similar, but instead it means that editors cannot use multiple accounts to contribute. Keyboard mouse 01:43, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Tutorials

Hi buddy, first of all, keep up this awesome work ! You really help this wii homwbrew community to always get bigger and bigger ! Now, I'd like to know where can I find some GOOD tutorials about how to make emulators, like SNES, GBA etc... I know that I can download the source of many of them, but I don't understando some parts. I'm a medium~advanced(C/C++)/ASM programmer. I just need a help to start !

Thanks and keep up the good work !! --L3on4rdo 05:29, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Sneschannel

When can we expect a Snes emulator channel? Atomix26 23:44, 31 August 2010 (CEST)

No idea, I'm not the one making it. --Tantric 23:52, 31 August 2010 (CEST)
Really? your not the one making the Snes9x GX channel creator? Atomix26 00:13, 1 September 2010 (CEST)
I found channels for all 3 Tantric's (and all of ekeeke's) emalators on gbatemp a while back, they are really nice and I've used them since. So look there (Snes is there). It would be great to see a screenshot of wiibrew's versions of channels to see if it's worth switching. --Spec 16:12, 1 September 2010 (CEST)
Those aren't the official channels. --Tantric 19:12, 1 September 2010 (CEST)
Correct - should have mentioned that - none of the channels I wrote about are official channels. I dont even recall who made them, but they are very nice. Also they are forwarder channels (your wikis should say whether the channels are by wilsoff and MrNick666 are just forwarders or full emulators). --Spec 20:00, 1 September 2010 (CEST)
As in the forwarder channels, those are yours right? Atomix26 23:13, 6 September 2010 (CEST)
None of the channels are mine. --Spec 22:56, 7 September 2010 (CEST)

Priiloader and WiiMC channel.

After downloading the wiiMC channel downloader off of HBC, and using it, when I go to "launch title" I get a code dump. I am using the WiiMC channel downloader that you made, running 4.3u, and the most recent priiloader. could a fix be possible, and do you need the dump(I dont want it, it smells crappy) Atomix26 23:16, 6 September 2010 (CEST)

Income From WiiBrew?

I was just wondering considering all your contributions to WiiBrew, have you derived any financial reward at all? Or is it a labor of love more than anything else? Dashxdr 19:00, 9 October 2010 (CEST)

It's just a labor of love, there's no income from it. --Tantric 23:10, 9 October 2010 (CEST)
That would have been my guess. It's like what I've thought. In the microsoft world everything costs money, but you can make an income selling stuff. In the open source world everything is free, but you can't make an income selling stuff. Which world do you prefer to live in? I choose the open source one. Dashxdr 23:52, 9 October 2010 (CEST)

Thanks for your work and some Request

Thanks for the good work, Some of us would like to see your cover versions of fce, snes9x and vbagx, so our friend Psiko seems to have abandoned the project. Question: Are you working in emulators of N64 and PSX. Thanks again -- Dan elDan el 20:54, 20 February 2011 (CET)

Request: Any interest in updating the abandoned MAME emulator?

You do great work so i thought I would come to you. I would be nice to someday see an updated MAME emulator. The current one is 'okay' but it lacks 480p support and a greater range of ROM compatibility. It's a pity since the WII would be a great platform to play old arcade classics in HD and all their glory (Strider, Ghouls & Ghost, etc.) Anyhow if you'd ever be interested, I'd be grateful! Thanks for your hard work. :-) Games Junn 23:45, 22 May 2011 (CEST)

FCEUX 2.1.5

FCEUX 2.1.5 is out but I bet you already knew that and are working on an update for FCE Ultra GX. --Wildgoosespeeder 09:10, 27 July 2011 (CEST)

Blargg's NTSC library support?

Long story short, I basically cannot get over how awesome your emulator ports to the Wii have been. About the only thing I can possibly think of that would make them even better, assuming the Wii has the processing power to support it, would be Blargg's NTSC library to simulate a CRT display. Any chance we might see that in a future release? I WOULD BE YOUR BEST FRIEND FOREVER WITH A CHERRY ON TOP. Unless that sounds too unintentionally sleazy. Doctor Fedora 10:50, 31 July 2011 (CEST)

SMB help on FCE Ultra GX

Hey, you probably get a lot of these, but all I want to do is load ROMs via wifi so I don't have to download them. Really, I don't even know if you can do that, but that's what I thought it was for. Also, I used the IP '192.168.0.1', the username 'Wiiuser' and password 'Password'. It says "Connecting to File Share" for around 5 seconds and then says "Unable to connect to File Share". PS I am using the latest updates of each. Could you help me please? PokemonBoy 19:32, 26 July 2012 (CEST)
