Inkpoly questions
I just downloaded Inkpoly and it looks fantastic, even on my horrible old TV. A couple of things I was curious about, though: what aspect ratio was it designed for? My TV's an old PAL, 576i 50Hz-only beast, and Inkpoly appears to be slightly out of aspect; it's wider than it is tall, whereas in your screenshot appears to be a perfect circle. Also, I'm curious what your intentions are for the app; is this release your goal or is Inkpoly intended to be used as a library in other homebrew as a screensaver? I have to say I'd love to see it supported by any of the media players, it would go great with some music! - Vague Rant 07:39, 23 September 2010 (CEST)
- @Vague Rant: Thanks for your feedback. I'm not certain of the aspect ratio business on the Wii, I'm not exactly sure how the homebrew is supposed to do it. I think the resolution is always 640x480 on the Wii, whether it's 480P or 480I or 4:3 or 16:9. I think the application is supposed to adjust. Now you're adding the additional PAL complexity... On my 4:3 monitor in 480P mode the thing is a perfect circle, as on my 4:3 TV in 480I mode. As to goals for this, I have none, I'm just playing with the Wii. I figured I'd release the source if anyone cared to request it. Dashxdr 16:47, 23 September 2010 (CEST)
Observation
You are a madman being so busy with this stuff all of a sudden! I say 'sweet!!!' -Kage Korosu 08:27, 25 September 2010 (CEST)
- @Kage52124 It's a phase that'll pass in a while most likely. Dashxdr 00:03, 26 September 2010 (CEST)
- Well, maybe it won't pass too soon. There's still a bunch more I want to do... --Dashxdr 23:57, 9 October 2010 (CEST)

also.. you know that loganA guy? he was the one who deleted the page in the fist place (my first page was deleted by him)(i made a second page) --Blue luke234 15:26, 13 November 2010 (CET)
- loganA might own wiibrew, I'm not sure, but he does have admin status. He listens to Bg4545. Dashxdr 15:30, 13 November 2010 (CET)
should i put super smash bros. brawl custom stage studio out on releses? the last time i did my page was deleted. what should i do? i already put it in pc utilities but in releses? help! --Blue luke234 15:35, 13 November 2010 (CET)
- You need to convince LoganA / Bg4545 / SifJar the page belongs on WiiBrew. The edit war of the page in question wastes all your time, serves no purpose. Like two people fighting over the thermostat. Take it to the higher level, convince them you're right, then they'll be on your side. Dashxdr 15:38, 13 November 2010 (CET)
- @BL234 other note, you got on Bg4545's bad side with the direct link to pacman roms, this is a delicate area. Can't be so direct about copyright violations. WiiBrew attempts to be pro-copyright and anti-piracy. Its own legitimacy is always at stake. Dashxdr 15:41, 13 November 2010 (CET)

Hey, it just occurred to me you are actually Dave Ashley, the guy who developed the first unlicensed Sega Genesis Development System (GDS) in the 90's, right ? It seems you actually worked on the Genesis X-Band also, that's nice. Do you happen to still have any documentation (official or not) that you could share about Genesis hardware (and that would be worth sharing) ? Eke 16:38, 22 November 2010 (CET)'
- Yeah, that's me. I've been hacking away for 35 years now. I was messing with the genesis in 1991. Before that the Amiga. Before that the N* horizon. Before that the compal-80. As to docs on the genesis, here is a link to a zip containing the files on the disk I gave out with the dev-kit. genesis-dev-kit.zip but I hardly think it's anything new, these days. Thank a lot. Even if it's not anything new, it still interests me to read what other people have found by their own means when develoment was still active, this was indeed a little like the DevkitPPC/libogc for genny for that time ;-) About your "issue" with people here not understanding why you want to use wads, I suggest hanging on #wiidev (or better on #hackmii if it is still active) and try to get more positive informations about how you can install dol as channels. People here are a little reluctant at publicly sharing technical infos that could eventually help pirates so don't let yourself stopped by the apparent "elitist" attitude.
