“IOP-OS”
Where did you find the name IOP-OS? I ask because I couldn’t find any non-leak sources for it. Hallowizer (talk) 18:36, 21 April 2021 (CEST)
- It can be found in the leaked source code for IOS. IOP is the real name for the community-named "Starlet" --Brawl345 (talk) 20:48, 21 April 2021 (CEST)
- Leaked contents are not allowed on WiiBrew. Hallowizer (talk) 21:06, 21 April 2021 (CEST)
- It's not like it's a leaked file, it's simply the name. Nothing illegal about it. --Brawl345 (talk) 21:13, 21 April 2021 (CEST)
- The information came from a leak though, so it's Nintendo's intellectual property. Hallowizer (talk) 22:38, 21 April 2021 (CEST)
- Also, if you’re wondering, there are other reasons we know it’s called the IOP. According to Hardware/Hollywood Registers, there is a register called HW_IOPINTPPC, so we know IOP is a hardware device. Here, you can see that IOP API is the same as IOS-API, so IOS and IOP are clearly related. It’s pretty obvious at this point that IOP is the Starlet. Hallowizer (talk) 22:53, 21 April 2021 (CEST)
- Team Twiizers literally posted Wii keys on their blog, so I don't see the problem. Everything else is wrong information and shouldn't be on this Wiki. --Brawl345 (talk) 06:06, 22 April 2021 (CEST)
- The difference is that Team Twiizers obtained the keys legally. They found these keys by opening up their Wii’s and using key dumping tools. Leaked information is protected under an NDA, and therefore cannot be released, even in small amounts. Hallowizer (talk) 06:46, 22 April 2021 (CEST)
- It's an "illegal number". I suggest reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AACS_encryption_key_controversy --Brawl345 (talk) 07:46, 22 April 2021 (CEST)
