  1. Load the Wii Menu
  2. Click Wii Options at the bottom left
  3. Click Wii Settings
  4. Locate the version number at the top left
    1. This should have the format Ver. X.Xx
    2. If there is no version number, then the console is on 1.0.

Do NOT update your console until you have a NAND backup. Your console may have interesting files that cannot be restored after updating, and some scene members may be interested in discussing these files.

Load homebrew using Bluebomb with a 1.0 stage0 (not in the official release).

Use str2hax.
