Talk:Syobon Action Wii
Feedback
Awesome work! I was constantly laughing at this game. Can't thank you enough for porting this, and so solid for a first release. --Corey89 20:12, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- ^^ I agree, a mario styler :D --djdynamite123 20:32, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
I 've wanted to play this after seeing a youtube video ages ago... never could find the source. Cheers! ~ PhoenixTank | talk | contribs | 22:03, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Hahahaha, really funny, I found an use to the suicide button after some minutes of playing. Your port came to me in a really good moment. I suggest a way to return to the main screen (to change the level) and rename the icon to icon.png so we don't have to do it yourself. Good job! Aruskano 07:51, 1 February 2010 (UTC).
- Icon fixed, thanks! As for the "back to home screen" function I could implement in the next version (if I'll do that)...I have 2 bugs to fix but I don't have time...help? :P --Scognito 09:42, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Thank you guys for comments! --Scognito 09:42, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
9 levels? I beat the game and there were only 4... What did I miss?! --SuperWario 13:59, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah that is what I thought too, but there is an (unofficial ?) version out there with sources included, so I started from there (it is specified in my blog post). --Scognito 14:28, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- Fast reply. Yeah I beat it with the False ending and that's why I thought the game ended at 4 levels. Now I know there is a Real ending and that puts you in the rest of the levels. Ayy - thought I was done - now I have more puzzles to solve! --SuperWario 14:44, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Is the randomly generated level feature included?--Namo 19:31, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- I forgot about that...do you want it? :) --Scognito 23:42, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes please :3--Namo 06:32, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
Anyone found out how to use level select yet? If not Scognito plz tell us. We need to know. Awesome release by the way.--MANICX100 16:06, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- Just press UP/DOWN at main screen to select level (1-9)(no visual feedback though) ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scognito (talk • contribs) 09:17, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Great game! I made it to the end of level 8, and then just got stuck on an error message screen that said:
TEXT: Audio not found: 107!
- Thank you! I forgot to remove the "pause" when an audio file was not found! 0.2 is around the corner, it contains just few changes anyway ;) --Scognito 09:38, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
I had to hard reset the wii. So I tried level select to level 9, and it's kind of.... weird; everything is invisible except the cat and one message block that says there is ice. Is it supposed to be like that? --Mr. Reaper 22:25, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah indeed I never played that game, it is the same in the original pc version, don't know how to clear it! --Scognito 09:38, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey... I watched a youtube video of level 9, and the blocks were visible.... Must be a bug making them not show up? --Mr. Reaper 19:29, 17 August 2011 (CEST)
TODO
- Add possibilty to choose the random level Done
- Create a wad that properly exit to system menu Need test
if (strncmp("STUBHAXX", (char *)0x80001804, 8) == 0) exit(0); SYS_ResetSystem(SYS_RETURNTOMENU, 0, 0);
- Need someone to build a WAD(I have all the images needed)
--Scognito 09:19, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
[Note: I replaced the Need test template reference with a substitution because the template doesn’t belong as a template, and is only used here. This should not affect the visual comment, but it does change the wikitext. Hallowizer (talk) 22:06, 29 May 2022 (CEST)]
- I can make a WAD channel for you, and I am applying those patches right now. HUN73R /\/\. 00:01, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, when I tried compiling, and I relised there is no Makefile, it was not in the source I downloaded off the wiki page... where is it? HUN73R /\/\. 00:30, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Add to HBC
What about adding Syobon in Homebrew Channel? --★ → Airon Ĉ 16:15, 17 August 2011 (CEST)
Is it possible to have a menu when pressing Home button with the following actions?
- resume the game
- exit to loader
- exit to Wii
- shutdown Wii
Thank you ----★ → Airon Ĉ 11:42, 24 August 2011 (CEST)
Bugs
-n lives
If you die more than 3 times, you have -1 lives, then -2 lives and so on. ----★ → Airon Ĉ 16:15, 17 August 2011 (CEST)
- That's not a bug. It's supposed to do that. --Mr. Reaper 19:32, 17 August 2011 (CEST)
Can't finish first level
Don't know if it is a bug but I cannot finish the first level: there is a flying cannon hitting me after I go down the flagpole. Don't know what to do => bug :D ----★ → Airon Ĉ 16:15, 17 August 2011 (CEST)
- You have to jump OVER the flagpole... but I find it really hard to do! You kind of have to get a run at it by jumping up the stairs before you reach the top, or maybe there's a better way to do it. --Mr. Reaper 19:32, 17 August 2011 (CEST)
Screen resolution
The screen resolution is incorrect. There is an unused blue stripe under the screen. ----★ → Airon Ĉ 16:15, 17 August 2011 (CEST)
Button 1 should speed up the cat
In the PC version, if you press the spacebar, the cat speeds up. Button 1 should speed up the cat in the Wii version. ----★ → Airon Ĉ 11:40, 24 August 2011 (CEST)
Selecting levels and mute the music
If you press + button, you should be able to select the level you want to play. In the PC version you have to press the number of the level in order to play it. So, if you'd like to play the 5th level, you have to press the + button five times. During the game, + button should mute the music. ----★ → Airon Ĉ 11:40, 24 August 2011 (CEST)
