Updating from 4.3 to 4.3?

Does inserting a disc with 4.3 in the update partition fix the System Menu of a console with a modified System Menu 4.3? Hallowizer (talk) 04:39, 6 May 2021 (CEST)

To my understanding it's the same update logic as when launching with the disc channel normally; 4.3 won't reinstall 4.3 just because it's on the disc, but it might install additional IOSes on the disc if there are any (I don't know if there are discs with additional IOSes beyond what 4.3 uses though). To explain another way, it works off of the version number, and if you have 4.3U = v513 installed, then it won't update to v513 again. But you could possibly update from 4.3J (v512) to 4.3U (v513) if you had the wrong system menu region installed (it does seem to do region checking though, so I'm not 100% sure it would let you).
