Installing edited data?
Ive wanted to extract a Mii, mess around with the file's contents in Notepad on Windows, and install the Mii again. However, I am afraid that this might screw up the Mii Channel (and in extension, games that use Miis such as Mario Kart) because there will be an error on loading the Mii. Has anybody tried this? Is my reasoning correct? oops_ur_dead 22:21, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Wasn't a problem for me. Each Mii has a unique ID, so as long as you don't change that you're ok. Notepad won't open the mii file though. You'll need an editor to do that, e.g. http://aj.heypoorplayer.org/mii/ .
Is this really that dangerous?
Come on! All this does is install Miis on your Wii! It doesn't modify the NAND, and its in the Homebrew Browser! Could someone please just tell me why this is on the page? MoMo6 20:17, 25 August 2011 (CEST)
- Because it modifies the NAND, duh. Where did you think the miis are stored? Tueidj 20:35, 25 August 2011
- I still don't see how this could be dangerous, its just Miis...MoMo6 20:55, 25 August 2011 (CEST)
- Because of the wii's nature - if the NAND gets messed up it can cause a brick. Therefore anything that writes to the NAND (especially an app that is as old as this one and without source code) should be treated with caution. Tueidj 01:23, 26 August 2011 (CEST)
