Top and Bottom cut off

Cool game but the top and bottom of the screen where stats would be displayed seem to be cut off. Also are the buttons to start the charge and release it different? cause that's the only way to use it that seems to work for me.

edit: I'm using 1.2 r2 and with the classic controller I've noticed instead of releasing the button to attack you press a different button. With the wiimote you just release the charge button to attack as the other poster noted --Jbrodack 03:25, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Locks up when fighting a boss

I make it to a boss and the game spits out a code dump. :< I'm ready to beat the game at this point, but can't due to this bug. I feel unsatisfied. Using RC2 - Tobias Amaranth 7/6 ---Oh, and to the above user, I made it basically all the way through the game w/o needing the HUD, though I do most certainly wish it was there. And the charge and release are the same button, hold and release it.

Both of the above problems, and sound issues

The things I wrote down are very similar to the above, but I included the specific details in my own situation, and I had problems with sound as well, so I'll post it: I was playing on Wuss mode, and I'd been playing for a couple days (and lots of hours each day, perhaps too much to be healthy - it's just that addictive), but I'd only picked up 2 of the special weapons (halberd and sword). I was going along and entering all the rooms in this one area that I'd missed before, trying to gather up enough crystals to buy another shield upgrade (I had a feeling something big was about to happen, but I should have been saving the game more often), but I walked up to a locked door on accident. I'd never been through one before, and didn't realize till it was too late that it was the weapons that unlocked those doors. I am almost certain that it was the halberd that opened this door. My TV is old (not flat screen or wide screen, just a cheap clunky TV we bought five or so years ago for me to play games on) so I can never see much detail (or anything on the top, bottom, or sides of the screen - it cuts them off completely, thus no status bar or whatever is up there). But when I went through, I assume that what should have happened was a boss fight, but as soon as I got to the other side and some big black ball started growing in the corner, the game froze and gave me the stupid "there was an exception" error message that most homebrew apps do when something goes wrong. To go along with that problem, the sound gets screwy sometimes. Usually when I encounter this problem, it's the music that dies. However, sometimes it's some, almost all, or all of the sound in the whole game will cut away for a while, leaving me with complete silence. Nothing seems to be triggering it specifically, it just happens sometimes when I walk through a door. It doesn't even make a difference whether it's one I've been through before or not, just any given door. I hope that there's some solution to these problems. I know they're rather vague, but that's all the info I have been able to collect about the situation. Other than these few kinks, I have had a wonderful experience playing the game so far. It's a wonderful example of how old-school can be new again. And it's very zen, in a way that few people understand, in the gaming way. It requires strategy, but the kind of strategy that doesn't require much contemplation, just primal adaptation. I really hope it gets the recognition it deserves. --masterwriter42 05:01, 19 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding undated comment added 22:02, 19 July 2009 (UTC).

Comments and Praise

This game is awesome, truly it is!

However, the screen is cut off at the top and bottom, and things are a little small.

Could you possibly make an option to change resolutions via a config file or something similar?--Namo 12:55, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I have been playing the PC version of Meritous and i find that the controls on the wii are far better then PC. I just hope the screen resolution gets fixed, I remember Rick Dangerous Wii had this issue and it never got fixed i think they just lost intrest in it and never bothered to update it. This is a great port otherwise. --Davick 02:35, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Features request

I tried to play the game with a wiimote and it is really pain in the ass to do so. It would be nice if we could use the nunchuk to move the character on the screen. I could try to do it myself, but I think it would only take a few minute to the original porter to do so.
