Region converted korean Wii check

Is there a way to check whether my Wii is a region converted korean Wii? I have installed System Menu 4.1 some time ago, but dare not to install any later versions, as i suspect my Wii to be korean. --OnlyNickLeft 10:53, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Installing 4.3K update to fix?

Is this actually a plausible means of repair? As I understand it, system menu 4.2 and higher prevent running or installing updates from out of region games, and a Korean game would be out of region to any wii bricked with error 003. Furthermore, if there was a way to install the update, the Korean update must only be equal to the current system menu revision (meaning that bricked wiis on 4.2 could use a game with 4.2K rather than one with 4.3K) since the Korean version numbers are higher.--Jbc007 02:28, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Maybe, the page is most likely wrong about there being no 4.3K disc though. Pretty sure Animal Crossing City Folk has 4.3K, because it uses IOS48 which was included in 4.3K. Hallowizer (talk) 00:48, 16 July 2021 (CEST)

But...why?

Why did Nintendo only do this to Korean Wiis and not those of the rest of the world? Was it for law compliance in South Korea? Hallowizer (talk) 05:17, 27 January 2021 (CET)

Recovery menu

When this page mentions a recovery menu, is it referring to the one that comes from inserting a SaveMii dongle, or another one that loads after error 003? I couldn’t find anything about a menu loading after the error 003 screen online. Hallowizer (talk) 02:04, 31 March 2021 (CEST)
