just fyi, the used fonts for HBC:

Liberation Sans-Book-R-Normal-Sans--34-340-72-72-P-197-ISO8859-1
Liberation Sans-Bold-R-Normal-Sans--34-340-72-72-P-205-ISO8859-1

see https://fedorahosted.org/liberation-fonts/ dhewg 17:56, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Please do also note that there is no spacing between app buttons, neither in list nor in grid mode. If you do button designs that fill right to the edge, buttons will touch. --Drmr 17:49, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the comments, I will try to update it soon to take account of these things. --SifJar 20:28, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
OK, I'm a bit confused about fonts. I have found Sans-Bold, but not Sans-Book, and I'm confused about the stuff after that in the names of the fonts you mentioned... --SifJar 11:33, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

"the homebrew channel"

I couldn't help but notice that the text that says "the homebrew channel" is very fuzzy. I have the font that it is in so I made a png with the same scale as the screenshots. I'm not sure how well you can put this in there but here it is. --bg4545 21:37, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Well now I feel stupid, I just downloaded it and I can see that there's just a separate png for it.

Thank you very much, I made the original version from a theme in a few seconds and was aware it was crap, I'll replace it with your version in the next release, if that's OK with you? --SifJar 20:28, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Python/Tkinter ThemeShooter

ThemeShooter is a good app that will definitely help with the new HBC themes but unfortunately its windows-only with no-source. As a result of this, I decided to write a python version from scratch (relies on Tkinter and PIL), using the screenshots from the main page as guidance. It could probably do with some cleaning up, comments, etc and it's inferior as it merely shows a preview rather than generate an image file (plus I haven't added the Homebrew Channel text to it yet) but in theory it should run on pretty much any OS with python 2.x, Tkinter and the Python Imaging Library. Basically what I'm asking is whether I can get the approval to add this to the ThemeShooter page as an alternate version for Linux, BSD and Mac users. HoKaze 21:08, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Yes, it definitively help making me angry and frustrated. — Extrems (talkcontribs) 21:20, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
I'd be very happy for you to release a cross-platform version, I just made this to try and help theme developers. I can also release source if you want, it's written in AutoHotKey. I'll release source with the next version which will have a few improvements. --SifJar 20:28, 18 August 2010 (UTC) Also: Sorry Extrems for angering you :( Just trying to make a useful program.
Source is now available with v2.0. Also, BTW, the Homebrew Channel text is a PNG, so you should be able to add it pretty easily. Dunno how easy it is to put on the app text (the Lorem Ipsum stuff) with Tkinter and PIL, but if it can be done, I'm sure your app will become far superior to mine, simply due to the fact it can be cross-platform. --SifJar 19:40, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Upon looking back at my original post here I see that I could have worded things better, although I'm not certain what I have done to upset Extrems. I have added to the python version after seeing your reply Sifjar and I've added the HBC image and limited text support (no alpha yet). Text took a long time but I was indeed able to do it, although it was done in a pretty ugly way.
I don't really have any experience with editing wiki pages so I'm not too sure how I should best add my version to the page. HoKaze 18:43, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion

Maybe you could randomize where the bubbles are placed, and also in some of the real pictures like my tetris theme the bubble pictures are tilted, turned, and different sizes. --Abeckring 22:45, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

problem

every time i make a screenshot, everything works fine except text. there is none. help? --Stonga 04:32, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, you're using v2.0 right? If so, it sounds like there is a problem installing the fonts necessary...Are you an admin? If not, maybe try running as admin. Not sure if this will work or not...Also, it could be that the font installation method in the app is wrong, but it seems to work for me, and I have seen others who I believe have made screenshots with my app and text is working for them. If you still can't get it to work, try installing the fonts manually by going into the resources folder and copying the two .ttf files into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts --SifJar 09:17, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Running as admin worked. ty --Stonga 15:12, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for testing this and helping find and test a solution. I'll put it on the main page now. BTW, now that the font is installed, you shouldn't have to run as admin in future ;) --SifJar 15:19, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Lorem Ipsum?

What does Lorem Ipsum mean, and what is it? --Jrcolonial98 17:41, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

No idea what it means, but its latin and its standard "filler" text, to show where text should be. I copied it from Extrems's "official" theme screenshots. --SifJar 18:26, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
