Questions
Could you tell me how you got the HBB to update it self?--HUN73R /\/\. 03:28, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- It firstly connects to the internet and checks a text file which contains the file size of the boot.dol. If this file size doesn't match the size the user currently has then it prompts the user to update. Then it just downloads the new boot.dol and meta.xml files to the correct location. There is a download example here: Homebrew Browser#NetSend Example + HTTP Download Example
I have used this program successfully many time launched from the SD card. I now wish to move my HomeBrew to my USB Drive. My first attempt was to have a WBFS partition fist with a Fat32 second on the Drive. That did not work so I tried moving the Fat32 to the first partition. That started to work but each time I Download an App the Wii crashes with a Stack Dump... Can this app run from a Fat32 partition of a USB Drive? Secondly with the WBFS as the second partition my WiiFlow USB loader would not see my files. But that is for another PAGE.--capple123 02:10, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Suggestions/Comments
What about moving the apps section to another page? (I mean here on Wiibrew) The list is getting a little long, no? -- Tj cool
Replace the wii zapper icon for apps with a button called "more peripherals" that has information such as usb support. Toagac 12:33, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
I would really like to see this app use multiple threads to download. Downloading files can be painfully slow. :). --Sonicsleep 03:54, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Add Experts Tab
maybe there should be a tab for sistem apps like Any Title Deleter, StarPatch (all versions),Any Region Changer, etc.... With a warning when accesing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiiman1 (talk • contribs) 03:44, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- How about the tab is password protected when you click on it a message pops up and says enter password. Gamewizard71 19:28, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think an extra tab for NAND-related apps would work sufficiently well, with that warning. A password is probably over-doing it. This'll definitely helps people (read: me). Keepsake 22:43, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Nah, a password would be best. Gamewizard71 01:51, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- But how would you get the password? --Mjbauer95 23:31, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think a password would be useful. Just sufficient warnings with the right jargon to scare off people who don't know what they're doing, should be all that's needed. -Anachronist 15:03, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think it might be easier for me to just make a repo of all this non safe stuff rather than implement it. --Teknecal 13:32, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Um.... why not a password? A password would protect a brother or stupid siblings from screwing up your wii. A password would be best and is neccasary. There's no reason why it should'nt be useful it makes comeplete sense. Why do you think they make pin#'s for CC cards? Not because they're not useful. They protect things from stupid people, who do stupid things. Actually teknecal should make the password therefore people dont screw up their wii unintended. We could just get the password from the codemii webpage or from this wiki... easy... simple.... bam! No hassle, no forgetting, and no stupidity! We do need it... because stupid people do stupid things and those kind of people exist. There's no reason why there should'nt be a password that just makes it alot safer. I don't "think" its useful. I KNOW its useful! -Gamewizard71 03:43, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- I agree, but no keyboard is required just a simple numpad with the ability to change the 4 digit pass! (just like parent control). --Elisherer 10:43, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

- A password makes no sense. Your argument about CC pins makes no sense. Publishing the password makes no sense. What you're suggesting is limiting access to a tab by implemented an undocumented password. Then end result will be hundreds of people googling where to get this password and, within days, forums will be filled with the answer (and loads of GBAfail). If your little brother can shake a wiimote he can google HBB password. This effectively turns your password into an elaborate (and annoying) "Are you sure?" dialog. If we're creating fancy dialogs, why not actually use an "Are you sure?" dialog with a brief explanation of the dangers of the action and a timeout before the answer buttons activate so the user has to read it. Show this dialog every time a user queues up an application from the "dangerous" tab... or better yet, don't host dangerous apps. If you're smart enough to use the dangerous apps, you're smart enough to install them yourself. -- MetaFight 11:41, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- Teknecal has already planned to add a password to the repo. -Gamewizard71 02:11, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- If somebody really wanted to mess up your Wii they could just put the SD card into a computer and deleted all the files, or use WiiXplorer. Is he really planning on a password? It just seems stupid and complicates things more than they need to be (and we get enough of that from Nintendo already). So seriously, Teknecal, reconsider. --Mjbauer95 20:54, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
- It won't have a password, it will just be another repo. If you would like I can assist anyone who wants to get this sort of repo out, you will need your own website though. --Teknecal 08:50, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Homebrew Browser Channel
I haven't done much lately with this but now I have a working compiler again so the installer is getting closer. The channel on the other hand is killing me. I am stuck with getting weird debug info like HBB used to give. Any help on how to read those Teknecal? Pinball wizard 01:19, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Does it say like debug [1] Not owner? I think that the fix is to format the SD card. --Teknecal 13:19, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- It isn't debug info I put it wrong. I meant to say Code Dumps. It looks to be all hex code. Check your pms too. Pinball wizard 19:06, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- The installer is getting closer. I have all the code checking out okay but I think that my development environment is having problems. Closer now though. Still have the channel issues. Hoping to maybe release before I die, lol. Pinball wizard 19:35, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm now doing debugging on the installer. If I can figure the channel issue out and approval from Teknecal, I should release soon.*@Teknecal, The issue with the channel is that it shows the kind of code dump as what you have at the end of your 1 year anniversary video. I am going to add in some debug code to see if it is the channel launch code or HBB code. Do you know what IOS HBB runs on? Pinball wizard 20:39, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

- I'm cleaning up code for the installer now, commenting out debug info and about to lock down the installer to the final channel pieces now instead of anything you want. I need to put some placeholder logo spots and finish recoding the code for the channel. I have a list of testers and should be ready to beta test in a week. @Teknecal, Don't worry about anything with your app just yet. I think I found the issue in the channel launching check your pms for details on it. After beta tests I will shoot you up for approval and I should have release 1.0 out very soon. Search
Umh... There is so many apps available, and no search. Search would be really useful! --Error 14:17, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- Something like searching by letter, e.g. A, B, C will bring you directly to those applications. --Teknecal 04:55, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Disabling bald character option
I can't think anything wrong with this app, it works like a charm, however I find the bald d-pad facec a little out the place, I don't know, there's a possibility to make an option to disable this character?, the menu is pretty customizable right now, so I though this could be easy. TunaLover 23:07, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, will be in the next version. --Teknecal 04:55, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
hbb stats page
Would it be possible to add a table that shows ranks based upon the last 7 or perhaps 30 days of downloads please? It'll be very hard for a new app to get to the top of the "all time list."
Add tab for Brawl hacks
This would be very awesome and helpful. Gamewizard71 01:29, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Better distinguish between downloaded/HBB apps
It would be possible, meta.xml being an xml file, to insert extra fields into it, without too many things exploding, surely. For instance, it could be possible to insert some hbb specific fields, for instance: <hbb:repository>lukegb</hbb:repository> <hbb:downloaded>true</hbb:downloaded> <hbb:lastversion>xyzabc</hbb:lastversion>

Lukegb's Repo
Everytime i try to load Homebrew Browser on lukegb's repo it gets all the way to retrieving homebrew list but it keeps failing to retrieve the list and then it takes me to the Homebrew Channel. Randomdude 02:13, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Everytime I start the program, I get at least one "Requesting Homebrew List... Failed to receive homebrew list.", but the program usually gets it and works. Recently, however, the program has failed a number of times, and then says it will return to the HBC, but never does. It simply freezes and locks up on the black screen. Please fix the program. Jwguy 22:59, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- I think my server has asploded. My repo is no longer up for the moment, but should remain in the HBB list. Will fix, ASAP. --Lukegb 00:54, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Probably not the right section, but I keep getting the error codes -81, -27 and -22, could a list be made so that users can identify their meaning? --ColdPerson 14:17, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Queue Bug? RECEIVED
I found a minor bug that you could fix in 0.3.9. If you add an app to queue then open up the "Download/Delete Queue" page, the app you selected will be there. But if you delete it from the list (By pressing -) and open the Download/Delete Queue page again, the name and short description will still be there, but not the icon. Again a very minor bug, but one that should be fixed. Keep up the good work!--Jrcolonial98 19:30, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
USB-HDD works, but icon download is extremely slow compared to SD OPEN
I also use a USB-HDD with a FAT32 on the 1st partition, with no SD Card whatsoever (my card slot is defective), and I noticed that HBB takes several minutes to update all the app icons. On a friend's Wii, I could see that this process takes only a few seconds, but unlike me, his HBB is in his SD Card. This has been like this since the days of HBB 0.3.5, and as of HBB 0.3.8, it hasn't changed. In spite of this, HBB works as expected, and code dumps are rare, but do occur, occasionally. --Friiloader 23:53, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
