:There have been very few cases where someone has been blocked and where I would consider reversing that block -- transgressions that are fairly minor usually only result in a block for a few days (which is not even worth discussing), and violations that are more severe are generally deliberate or malicious, so there's not much room for discussion there, either.  If someone gets blocked and they really feel like they deserve another chance, they'd be best off finding the person who blocked them on IRC. -- [[User:Bushing|Bushing]] 06:08, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Policy#WADs

"Tools to install WADs are also not allowed." should that be "Tools to install fakesigned WADs are also not allowed."? Else WadImport should not be allowed here. LoganA 14:06, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Are WADs like Virtual Console and Wiiware fake signed? Beegee7730 06:02, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
That makes no sense, all Virtual Console and Wiiware games that your Wii has a ticket to are not fake signed. Unless you are talking about warez, then I'll have to ban you. Anyway I'm talking about changing the rule to allow WadImport, because as the way it's written, it does not allow it. Edit: just saw that change has already been made. LoganA 15:51, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Piracy tools linking

Linking straight to a site that contains a backup loader is against the rules I guess. But what about linking to a site that contains backuploaders after a few clicktroughs? As done here on the website link.

Username Policy

Shouldn't someone mention something about the username policy on the account creation screen? Maybe we should so new accounts can avoid being blocked. Keyboard mouse 23:29, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

It really isn't easy to concretely define the username policy. It's at the discretion of each WiiBrew admin. If a user does choose a username deemed unacceptable, they can simply create a new account with a different one. --Tantric 06:21, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

But sometimes the blocking admin decides to disable account creation most of the times, so the user has to wait a day before creating a new account with an appropriate name. See Special:BlockList for some examples. Keyboard mouse 21:44, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Template for Requesting Unblock

What is the template's name that is used for requesting unblock? Keyboard mouse 04:02, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

How would that work? -- Bushing 06:07, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

If anyone can, they can just copy the template from Wikipedia. Keyboard mouse 21:46, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

File:Help-browser.svg
This blocked user is asking that his or her block be reviewed:

Please provide a reason as to why you should be unblocked
by changing {{unblock}} to {{unblock|your reason here}}.
If your reason contains a URL with a "=" in it you will need to add "1=" to the start of your reason or else it will not display correctly.

Note:

  • In some cases, a user may not in fact be blocked, or their block may be expired. Please check your block log. If no blocks are listed, or the latest one has already expired, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.

Administrator use only: If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request (please use {{subst:Unblock on hold-notification|1=Policy}} for notifying), replace this template with the following as notification.

{{Unblock on hold|1=blocking administrator|2=original unblock reason|3=~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following as notification, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.

{{unblock reviewed|1=original unblock reason|decline={{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

If you accept the request, replace the unblock template with {{tlx|1=unblock|2=reason}}, and post the following directly underneath the unblock template:
{{subst:Request accepted|1=reason}}
