What's even more strange, is that I get the same error with the new shop channel, then I must click retry once before I get the update notice. :::Well, for me everything seems fine at first, connecting end everything, until I get stuck at the error 205958 thingy and thrown out... it's definitely a server side block, Nintendo probably doesn't like people switching between regions, and this effect (being stuck in false region) is just a side effect. My guess is, the server doesn't know at all, what region your Wii is, - other than looking at the stored configuration at the nand -, that's the reason, why the switch worked before. Now they obviously put in a check, that works like that: If your Wii's region (PAL, NTSC US, NTSC jap) is the same as your last successfull connect, than: bingo, you are allowed to connect. If it's not: Give the meaningless error 205958. For most peoply this will successfully block them from connecting to different-region shop. After all, you simply can switch back to your original region and be able to connect again.
