Concerning the ElderlyChanges to apps pages
Abandoned Although they make the apps pages look neater, it makes it nearly impossible to monitor updated apps that have been obsoleted by more stable/featureful ones should be removed from . Many app developers do not announce app updates on the list Homebrew Updates page, and relocated subscribing to a retirement category where they will the Special:RecentChanges RSS feed gives far too many pages. The only other way would be given prescription drugs to subscribe to the RSS feed for every single app, and sit around talking about how nobody ever visits themthat's obviously a bit silly. I'm sure most people can think Maybe the layout of that page should be discussed, or at least a few abandoned apps that no longer belongversion field re-added. FlarkMuzer 0719:1423, 9 July 2008 5 March 2009 (CESTUTC):The apps pages were becoming way too unwieldly, so this was the solution that Blooper and I agreecame up with to deal with the bloat. Versions aren't a good indicator that an app has been updated, as they don't tell you when an app was last updated, Old apps need unless you're following that app closely. If anything is to be relocated to a special page and not deletedadded, in case someone finds I would suggest a use for them againLast Updated column. --Tantric 20:06, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Why did you delete the download and source columns, it takes time to check every new app to just see if its source code is released.gz|--Initrd.gzSal3000 505:04 PM55, 15 August 29 April 2009 (CDTUTC)
==date column?Other languages ==it would be useful (to me) to have a "last updated" column with month/day/year so i can see what's changed since i looked last without going through the wiki revisions - unless there's another way to do this that i'm not aware of
== Idea: Add peripherals to each table ==Since the translations of these lists are often out of date, i suggest making this english page look as follows (or something similar), and remove the lists in other languages alltogether.
Improvement to compare similar emulators. Shrink peripheral icons to not be obtrusive.{| class="apptable sortable"|-! width="25%" | Title! Article language! Description! width="20%" | Author|-:There is already the | Homebrew Channel| en | es | ja | it | nl | fi | de page for that. I plan to merge that page into the individual list pages so they are used and updated more often. --| Blooper4912fr| Installs the Wii Homebrew Channel onto the System Menu | Team Twiizers|}
== Notable Applications? ==I think that homebrew browser and dragon media player are not in the same league with the others on the list. I would either remove them from the list or add Starfall, MPlayer (Team Twiizers), ftpii and Quake to it. Maybe the best thing It would be to have a "notable apps" on every homebrew category page? Xyrion 00:35even cooler, 26 August 2008 (UTC):Personally, I'd rather flat-out remove it. Aside from if the obvious like the Twilight Hacklists in other languages could just update themselves, who's to say what's "notable" and what isn't? - <font color="#de0033">トウメイ</font> 03:47, 26 August 2008 (UTC)::Good pointbut i dont think thats possible. Xyrion 09:54, 28 August 2008 (UTC)::I Agree with Toumei. It should be removed totally. Either that or make a ranking system and base the content by that. --Initrd.gz 23:36, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
--Mechaelvis 19:13, 16 April 2009 (UTC) Ugh. That would still leave the description untranslated. So I don't like the idea. These lists won't be that outdated anymore because they just include title, description, author - and not download, version, updated, etc. --Tantric 19:18, 16 April 2009 (UTC):Point taken, but it's more when a new application is released, sometimes it takes a long time before it's added to the other languages lists. --Mechaelvis 14:15, 17 April 2009 (UTC):: True, but it takes even longer for it to be translated, if at all. And if the app page isn't translated, and the list is half translated, is there any point at all? --Tantric 15:23, 17 April 2009 (UTC)::: You are correct. If a german page links to a page that hasn't been created in german, should it link to the english article or the non-existing german article? Mechaelvis 09:12, 8 May 2009 (UTC) == Demos? Demo category missing ==This category is very messyWe left out the demos tab on this page. I think we need don't see a reason why someone looking for Wii applications would not want to separate scene demos see those listed on this page (WiiEarth, headtracking demo, etc).--Michael 13:26, 18 April 2009 (artUTC) : They were moved. They are accessible from proofthe main homepage, under the "Development" section. --Tantric 16:50, 18 April 2009 (UTC)::In my opinion, the demos belong here just as much as the "joke" apps do, or the "math" apps do, as examples. By placing the demos where the avergage user would not look, we're inadvertently diminishing the work of-concepts and technical demonstrations somehowthe demo writers. I also think that WiiPaint and WiiEarth belong If the only purpose of the demo is to utilities and MTB & MTP demo code or some technique related to jokes. Shutcoding, Box2D Balls and DrawingBox I 100% agree these should probably go to be in the dev section, but that's not solely the old homebrew archivescase here. --XyrionMichael 0220:0304, 29 August 2008 18 April 2009 (UTC):Go for itI have added a link to the demos to the linkbar. <tt>--<font style="color:#FF6C0A;">Blooper</font> <font style="color:black;"><small>(Talk)</en.wikipedia.orgsmall></wikifont></Wikipediatt> 22:10, 18 April 2009 (UTC) == Question ==Could you add development apps to the to linkbar; And i was wondering if you could give me a link to the template of the app table thanks? - [[User:Be_bold Be boldGamewizard71|Gamewizard71]! ] 04:27, 23 September 2009 (UTC): No and no. Don't touch the template please and thanks. --Blooper4912Tantric 0804:1346, 29 August 2008 23 September 2009 (UTC) I got a question. I downloaded WINTERMAN, a game in the applications. And I don't know how to play it. As in, start it up.... is there a folder I'm suppose to put it in? 'Cause I have it in the Apps folder currently. Thanks. --Randoman 22:00, 8 June 2011 (CEST)
