− | I like the concept you have, esp the uniqueness of classes. I always wanted to make a multiplayer metroid game, I actually made a metroid engine for game maker a few year ago. I would love for several control types, I could program in "Auto-Detect" of what is plugged in or whatever, I know I would love to use a nunchuck and point to the screen to shoot.

− | Anyhow, a split screen of this game would not be as good... But if you can promise me a server and someone who knows how to set it up online, contact me and I will be totaly behind you. If not, someone who knows how to do TCP/IP connections to shift it from MMO to simply O. Also, make sure we have some sprites, since a lack or resources usually kills most of my projects.

− | :Local multiplayer is not a part of this game, so no, no splitscreen is planned. A server is already provided by StoneWood, and I have already MMO developing experience (only at an indie-level, but still). Artists may jump on board once we have a running game engine, and I already know one exceptionally good artist who may be willing to work for this one, but I can't reach him lately. Anyway, drop me an email, or post some more questions here ;) --Chaosteil 12:22, 3 July 2008 (CEST)

− | ::Ok, I was REALLY againts split screen unless it was absolutely necessary (We all know how awesome come co-op games can be). Anyhow, I have worked with TCP sockets for a couple MMO's so I know how to work around all that stuff. I am currently writing up a doc for my ideas to contribute to the game. I have some great ideas about the classes (not changing them, just ways to make each of them feel special. Ie: Yes scientists can control the machines, but not all badguys are machines, right? But they can power up traps while watching a monitor. Someone (on your side or the enemy's team) take out a monitor? Well now you are on just blind faith. Don't just go trigger happy now that you can not see, it could be disasterous if you take out a friendly.) and some ideas on the "experience" (There should be 3 types of experience. Overall (like classic RPGs), Specific (Like in Oblivion/Runescape, the more you do an action the more XP goes into that specific action to make it better. the more you use a laser, the better you get at it), and Item Experience (This is the future, even now the guns are smart. The more a specific weapon is used, the more powerful it becomes. You could start off with a simple blaster and end up with a simple blaster at lvl 10, but now you have a lvl 50 blaster (since guns will level faster than players) that does a hella lotta damage. And as it levels up, it grows new slots, (kinda like ratchet and clank) so now you can plug in a missile upgrade and an ice upgrade for ice missiles XD) See where I am going? Anyways, time for work. Bye --CloneDeath 13:15, 3 July 2008 (CEST)

− | :::Ok, we need to set up a "To do" list. My projects get completed the fastest when I organize like this. If you want an example check out the website for my other game battleduel.co.nr and click "[Todo List]". The ones in red are complete, the ones in black are yet to be done, and the ones highlighted in yellow were cancelled (for reasons specified). The ones highlighted in white were me screwing around and too lazy to go back and fix them. Also, if you just look at the screen shots, watch the videos, or even play the game, you may get a good idea of my capability to make a great platformer engine. Not saying I want to do all the work, just saying if you are having some problems with wall climbing or ledge grabbing or something, alert me. I was in the works of allowing you to change your clothing too, but then I abandoned the project in hopes of making it a flash game to try and make some ad revenue money off of it, then abandoned flash for Wii homebrew. Anyhow, we need to create 2 new pages on this wikki. A "To Do" page and a "Concept" page. If anyone knows how to make it so they are like Userpages, please do that.

− | :::If you want, and you feel you could use my skills, I would love to be part of the dev team. I work as a programmer about 10 hours a day (2 hours driving, am actually there for only 8 hours) down at the city government center as an intern programmer (I know so much VBScript and ASP and SQL, I could kill a man with it all) and I am going to Georgia Tech when summer is over. So if my private life can tell, I am a bit more than just a hobby programmer XD. Anyhow, we need to set up the two pages. Also, the "Concept" page will be VERY large. We will pretty much be chizleing out our game's organs there. We will use it's discussion page to talk about what to add to it (Ie: What stats to use, naming everything, etc. We can use your concept thing as a baseline to start from). The todo list is where we discuss adding new things to/removing them from the list. Basically we translate from "Concept" to "Todo" to "Actual Code". Make sense? --CloneDeath 14:15, 3 July 2008 (CEST)

− | == Licensing ==
| + | |} |
− | | + | __TOC__ |
− | Well, we have to talk about licensing sometime. Here is my suggestion:
| + | <center> |
− | * Code (server and client): GPL or similar copyleft
| + | Please go to the official Galaxy Stations website, which can be found here |
− | * Packaged data: Creative Commons / GNUFDL / other artistic license
| + | </center> |
− | * Stations on our server: All or most rights reserved
| |
− | * Some stations or content on our server: some free artistic license
| |
− | The last category is stations like tutorials and stuff that aren't original, or media that we want others to use, or stations that use copyleft media, etc.
| |
− | | |
− | I've tried to be restrictive here, though I tend to prefer free-ness (see my callsign ->) TD-Linux 22:39, 3 July 2008 (CEST)
