Cool. Where's the download link?--Arikado 17:51, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind, you just posted it--Arikado 17:59, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Just tried it. It's awesome. Would like to see classic and gamecube controller support in a future release.--Arikado 18:13, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Thank's Arikado ! Yes I'll add classic controller support in a future release.--BScrk

Great Homebrew! Xyrion 21:30, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

What is your source code based on? NiL? Open Liero? Liero AI? LOSP? --Flark 18:26, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Wiiero is a project developed from scratch, my source code is't based on other Liero clone, I made all... --BScrk
Well, I love liero! Thanks for making this. =) --Flark 19:03, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

homebrew browser support?

Will there be support for homebrew browser download? --anolma 17:03, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

That's the responsibility of the HBB maintainer, not the Wiiero dev. Flark 22:20, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. I though that one needs to send the app to HBB for review or something. I will check if this is already in HBB wish list... --anolma 06:56, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Some comments

  • It would be nice to have a way to cancel out of a game without having to exit wiiero and restart the app. -- Flark 09:26, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, this is a good idea... I will add this feature. -- BScrk 20 October 2008
  • I can't figure out how to adjust the rope tension. Has this feature not been added yet? You could do it in liero. Flark 09:26, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
I do not remember this feature ... I will try to integrate it. -- BScrk 20 October 2008
Cool, thanks. Take a look at LIEROENG.TXT, the english documentation for liero 1.33 (it comes in the zip file). It says:
If you hold "Change weapon" button down, you can adjust the length
of the rope by "Aim up" and "Aim down" keys.

Try this for yourself. It allows you to "climb" up or down while grappled. ;) Thanks. Flark 13:17, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Bugs and suggestions

You should make this game multi language, i guess lot's of the translators would translate this title. Like i would translate it to Hungarian. Contact me if you like this idea. --Tusk 15:45, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it would be possible to integrate a language manager in future Wiiero versions. If you have time, send me your translation. Thank you --BScrk 16 October 2008
I sent you the translation. --Tusk 12:09, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Bug Tracker

This needs a proper bug tracker. This is so that people don't keep reporting the same bugs over and over again. It's also much better than dealing with email. In the meantime, I suggest that people post bugs here. --Flark 18:26, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Can't start game or return to menu!

I am unable to test the game and I am unable to exit the game.

Once I select weapons for player one, I can't get any farther. I assume that another controller is needed to select weapons for player two before gameplay will begin, but none of my extra wiimotes will connect. Also, there is no way to exit back to the menu. This makes it so that I have to unplug my wii. This is not good. --Flark 22:16, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I figured this out. You need to connect BOTH wiimotes BEFORE launching the game. This isn't mentioned anywhere. I'll make a note of it on the main wiki page. --Flark 22:25, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Turns out the extra controller doesn't need to be connected before the game loads. I just had to resynchronize it to my wii before it would work in the game. This is still kind of a problem, so there is a note of it on the instructions section. --Flark 22:37, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, you need 2 controller to play wiiero. But I'll review the controller code in future release in order to fix the synchronization problems. --BScrk 12 October 2008 (UTC)
As far as I can see, there are no synchronization problems. The additional controllers I was trying to connect for player #2 in wiiero were synchronized to my 2nd wii console instead of the wii console I was using with wiiero. I had to synchronize them to the wii I was using with wiiero before they would connect in wiiero. So it isn't a problem with wiiero. The wiimotes were just looking for a different wii I.D. than the one I was using for wiiero. I am sorry for the misunderstanding. Flark 02:43, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok, thanks Flark. Anyway, the wiimote detection and the nunchuck hot plug codes have been improved in next wiiero version (1.1 - released soon) -- BScrk 14 October 2008
The new Wiiero version (v1.1) was released... the controls detection bugs have been fixed ! -- BScrk 18 October 2008

Use of openliero skin/levels?

is possible to use skins made for openliero to wiiliero? -Yod4z 12 october 2008 14:56 GMT+1

Hey that sounds cool. What do the skins do? Change the dirt and rocks? The worms and guns too? Look inside the wiiero sprites folder. Everything is in bitmap format. I'll bet you could make a "conversion pack" or something out of the "skins" you are talking about. --Flark 18:53, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, you can make skins by editing bitmap files into the "Wiiero/sprites" directory. You'll find the graphics bitmap files into the subdirectory ("weapons", "players", "maps" and so on). I'll add a skin manager into future release, so if someone want to send me his skin (, I could add it in future Wiiero versions. --BScrk 12 October 2008

Weapon Names

I forgot to check the names of the weapons before I sent you the list of english fixes. I'll put together another list for the weapons and send it. Once again, I am sorry I forgot to check those. Flark 07:44, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Since the list is so short, I'll just post it here:
  • Shootgun = Shotgun
  • Super Shootgun = Super Shotgun
  • Grasshapper = Grasshopper
  • GHapper Grenade = GHopper Grenade
  • Kamikase = Kamikaze
  • Gaz Grenade = Gas Grenade
  • Missile Control = Guided Missile (not in game yet) (present since v1.1)

Sorry about forgetting to check the weapon names. :/ Flark 09:18, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Flark ! I'll include these corrections in the next Wiiero version. BScrk 20 October 2008
