not a card file -error-
Solved problem, use .a52 roms for 5200 emulation.
I already download it, download some roms place those on the sd/wiixl/software/card directory , and place the 5200.rom file into the apps/wiixl directory, but I can't launch any Atari 5200 game.
:Hmmm... Are you able to successfully launch it via the Atari800 emulator (not on the Wii, on Windows, etc.)? When launching a 5200 game it will normally prompt you to select the type of cartridge it is (you will typically need to select between the 1 or 2 chip 5200 cartridge type). Once you have selected the cartridge type, you need to cold restart it. If this works for you via the standard Atari800 emulator (on Windows, etc.) and doesn't work w/ WiiXL please let me know what version of firmware you have and I will try to reproduce it. Thanks. --Raz0red 19:48, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
::What I do step by step
::-Start emulation
::-Press HOME
::-In Select System, I select Atari 5200
::-Cartridge management,(insert cartridge) I tried with both 5200 types
::-Cold start with +
::-I got an Atari screen, then the blue screen say The Atari Computer has crashed.  -TunaLover
::P.D. Sadly I never have tried this emulator with another system.
:::Hmmm, that typically means that the 5200.rom file is not correctly installed. When you go into the emulator configuration screen, does it show a full path to the 5200.rom file? If so, that means it was able to find the ROM. The rom that I am using and I know works can be found via the following URL:
:::Make sure you unzip it.

::::yes the 5200.rom file show up in the emulator configuration.
::::5200 rom: sd:/apps/wiixl/5200.rom
::::I downloaded the file from the atariage too he.  Still getting the Atari Computer has
::::crashed screen
:::::Hmmm, not quite sure what is happening then. Some games don't require a restart at all, just simply exiting out of the menu (via B button) starts the game. But, typically when that occurs you aren't prompted for the cartridge type. When you are prompted, and it is a 5200 cartridge you must select between the 1 and 2 chip type. If it is an Atari 800 cartridge it is going to be one of the other types.... You might also want to confirm that the System is set to Atari 5200 in the Select System menu after you select the cartridge. --Raz0red 21:09, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
::::::I just need insert cartridge? or create something more, maybe the disk option?
::::::: If it is a 5200 cartridge then yes, you just need to use insert cartridge. Out of curiosity, are you running 3.3 or 3.4 firmware on the Wii? I am on 3.2 and it seems that sometimes file-based issues occur on subsequent firmware versions that don't happen on 3.2. --Raz0red 21:22, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
::::::::I'm on 3.2, it's more homebrew friendly.  That's strange, everything seems to be in order, maybe am failing to manage the program, could give me a step by step instructions what you make to boot a 5200 game? Take in account that I've never touched an Atari 5200 in my life. P.D. all my 5200 roms are 16k or 32k, bin format, maybe am using incorrect roms.
:::::::::Just to close this out, we were able to resolve the issue. He was using incorrect ROMs. --Raz0red 02:07, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
