What would be the best thing to do? Should I update because it has no immediate affect? Or should I put it off until it is required? 79.72.75.175 02:54, 23 March 2008 (PDT) (User:Muzer not logged in (User talk:Muzer))

I can see why homebrew channels would be affected, but surely a "Trucha-Signed" disc could request an older version of IOS in it's TMD? Or does the Wii system menu (which will be updated eventually) check the disc's signing? Or am I on the wrong track completely? RabidZombie 09:45, 23 March 2008 (PDT)

The disc is verified by the system menu, not by the disc software. I wonder in case Nintendo puts out a system menu update to block trucha signed discs, if it would be possible to use the Twilight Hack to initiate a downgrade of the system menu software. 83.252.139.72 13:52, 23 March 2008 (PDT)
I guessed as much. :'( Thanks for verifying. (RabidZombie) 86.136.14.222 14:53, 23 March 2008 (PDT)

I finally got access to my Wii, and there seems to be no update. Is this a hoax? --Muzer 13:55, 23 March 2008 (PDT)

No
So why can't my Wii pick it up then? And sign your comments! --Muzer 01:53, 24 March 2008 (PDT)
Well Bushing did sign his comment; check the signature after the tmd dump below. You just decided to post your comment in the middle of his (as did I now). Oofrab 02:28, 24 March 2008 (PDT)
Yeah, that. I don't know why your Wii didn't pick it up, I just work here. You can download the TMD yourself: http://nus.cdn.shop.wii.com/ccs/download/0000000100000025/tmd
The whole point of this wasn't to freak people out, it was simply to say "here's something that is happening behind the scenes which may affect you later". Geez. Bushing 04:50, 24 March 2008 (PDT)

How do people know that this IOS will block trucha-signed discs? Also, this would affect the current homebrew channel created by bushing? 201.66.108.6 18:37, 23 March 2008 (PDT)

bushing and marcan messed around with it. I'd assume they hacked together something to use/load the IOS37 and tested sign-checking functions. Also, the homebrew channel was created by marcan. bushing just taped it AFAIK :P --ProdigySim 20:27, 23 March 2008 (PDT)
I disassembled it and saw the fixed hash-checking code; Marcan installed IOS37 and wrote a program to test it (as mentioned above). Bushing 22:29, 23 March 2008 (PDT)

could it be that the ios upgrade is only available in usa? me and some other guys here can't fetch it. i have a pal wii, location germany? Robertle 11:17, 24 March 2008 (PDT)

That could be it; I'm PAL/UK. Muzer 11:21, 24 March 2008 (PDT)
i was just on #wiidev and people talked about that issue too. speculation was that the update was splitted. first they released the wii-shop/wii-ware update. the night later the ios37 upgrade. could be that for people who updated later, these updates were combined. Robertle 12:31, 24 March 2008 (PDT)
This part should be clear! Is it out in PAL or not? LukeNL 10:14, 25 March 2008 (GMT+1)
No, not yet! There are no updates available at the moment (PAL/DE) Robertle 04:12, 25 March 2008 (PDT)
When using Title Lister it shows that the IOS37 is already on my EU/PAL Wii. Can anyone confirm this on their EU/PAL Wii? robertle 08:24, 6 April 2008 (PDT)
I cannot confirm this. I have an IOS36 on my German/PAL Wii but no ISO37. And I have installed the latest update. Correction: I have an IOS37 on my Wii. Tz 16:05, 27 April 2008 (PDT)
Is this measured using my Title Lister? If so, please paste the full output up somewhere. Thanks! Bushing 23:05, 27 April 2008 (PDT)
I tested the Title Lister on my PAL Wii and can CONFIRM that IOS 37 is installed on my Wii. Info: I played Mario Kart Wii before. DarkChris 14:36, 28 April 2008 (GMT+1)
I can also confirm this for PAL and have had it for some time now, since the first version of a working title lister was out anyway Cboomf 09:49, 28 April 2008 (PDT)
I just uploaded a new image showing IOS37 has arrived in EU. The App used is bushings Title Lister. System update was done on 24 March 2008. --robertle 06:13, 9 May 2008 (PDT)

Corrupted Files message

I just got the "The system files are corrupted" message out of nowhere, but turning off the wii and turning it back on again had it working fine. Should I be worried?--Nathew 06:19, 29 May 2008 (PDT)

Quite a few people have had that, I doubt it's a problem. Muzer 08:04, 29 May 2008 (PDT)

Updated News Inconsistent??

4. The only reason this info is public is because we're watching Nintendo closely. It does not affect you.

#3 and #4 seem to contradict, no?
