Problems

firstly, it does work... and all of these things will no doubt be down to the early releaseness of it :)

there are a graphical glitches on occasions when you've shot a duck, the ducks appear on the screen at the same point all each time. Where's the dog?? I miss the dog no sound JD

Great Start

This is a great start, but I hope this is only the start of this program. A faithful reproduction of the original would be great! Complete with the dog, and more random flight paths. You can't miss the duck as it never leaves the screen.

This version is so close, yet so far from the original. Great start though!


PAL 60 + RGB OK

Does it works well in PAL60+RGB? I tryed first version and got a beautyful black&red game...--TC 23:23, 21 June 2008 (CEST)

Yes. Today I tryed and it works fine. There are a few things you should take a look

  • Ducks are very small
  • When in 2 ducks mode, you have more than 3 shots.

Greatness and problems

Hey, I think this is a great re-pro. Great work on it! My only thing is the size...the ducks are SMALL! And also, there are some foreground/background issues... --Atariangamer 19:27, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

A Glitch I Found

If you shoot while the dog is walking, before a bird appears, the screen flashes as if you fired, and if you time it right with when the dog stops smells or when it jumps into the grass, the entire screen turns blue until the dog starts walking or until the bird appears. You shouldn't be able to fire before a bird comes out.

Bug reports

It's really annoying that the "teaser sound" is played over and over again with a very short pause. This was originally played at the intro screen with a looong pause. If you need help getting the correct sounds sampled I can be of assistance. Please remove the "FRAME XXXX" text on screen and please use a larger font for the score - as big as the "FRAME XXXX" text would be nice! And I can hardly stand there not being a shooting sound... BUG: When you hit a duck with the last shot you get a pink screen and the "fly away" text message although you actually hit the duck. One nice thing you could do is to change the colors of the duck that the dog shows according to what was shot down - that is missing in the original NES version. The dog holds up the same looking duck every time no matter if you shot one of the blue ducks.
