List of homebrew applications (media)

Several Wii Homebrew applications are available to play media files.
Descriptions
Audio/Video
All are ports of MPlayer and so will play most media files.
- GeeXboX and Wii MFE Port are Linux-based ports of Mplayer.
- MPlayerWii and MPlayer are two independent native ports of Mplayer to the Wii; the latter is the only player that plays DVDs.
Audio
- DragonMedia Player is a user-friendly music player with a skinnable interface. It plays MP3, FLAC and OGG/Vorbis; AAC and WMA support are planned.
- MiniMP3 Player has a basic interface and only plays MP3s. The source code provides a good example of how to play MP3 content on the Wii.
- HiivelyPlay plays AHX/HVL tracker music.
- WiiMPC is an MPD client.
