Brick theory
It doesn’t seem like bushing ever got a bricked Wii, but I do have a random idea for what happened that we might be able to test.
Most bricks I saw online happened as a result of the update screen freezing, and people shut their consoles off as a result, not because of power loss. This probably means that because the Wii fails to check signatures most of the time, it assumes any malformed boot2v4 is fully up to date when it boots again and decides not to fix it.
I don’t have anything backing this up, but we can probably check the IOS/Sysmenu code for this. Hallowizer (talk) 17:22, 9 July 2021 (CEST)
