: Well, i do not know what IOS the Prototype System Menu uses, or if the prototype even used IOS at all. I assume it is using [[IOS12]] because it is the oldest know IOS in the System Memory (June 4, 2006). My Guess is that it was used for E3 2006 demonstrations and game development. As for earlier builds, it is quite possible that IOS wasn't developed in 2004/2005, and Nintendo created the System in Early 2006, to keep new updates from breaking compatibility with early games. And according to your early System Menu post, you said that 2004 System Menu was like a modified Gamecube menu. It would then be like a Nintendo DS (Original and Lite). so thats my explanation!
