Is this program essentially the same as Domdomsoft Manga Downloader for PC? Domdomsoft Manga Downloader can download manga from the most popular online manga sites in a JPG format.

I use this program on my PC and keep all my manga on my flash drive, which I stick into my Wii to (kind of) read them. The program I use is far outdated and has major glitches. If this program were even just a JPG reader that can handle files greater than 700x1200, than that would be amazing.--Williamdude1 06:31, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Well, ComicsReader now supports only png images in ZIP archives (Made by a my windows program that convert all type of image in png, with the exact dimensions and then put them into an archive), and this month I'm going to publish a beta. Tiamattia

YESSSS!!! I've been waiting sooooo long for an application like this. THe downside, YOU ONLY SUPPORT PNG! I have a large collection of manga on an external drive and would love to read it cohesively on my wii. I'm using WiiReader now, but it is full of bugs. Please, please add jpeg support. I'm begging you. --Williamdude1 17:07, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Yeah it desperately needs JPG support, most comics are scanned and saved to JPG, and converting them makes them unintelligible and garbled because of compression and size.--Corey89 21:06, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
You can drag & drop jpeg images in ComixChannel Resizer too. --Tiamattia 08:56, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
The ComixChannel Resizer doesn't resize correctly, because the aspect ratio is changed and image quality goes down, so the pictures becomes unreadable--Corey89 13:34, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
I think so too. I installed a virtual machine with win xp just to try the resizer. The outcome was catastrophic. The pictures couldnt be used and were very blocky/low in quality. Until the app supports cbr or cbz or at least jpg i guess ill keep using wiireader (which isnt so bad btw). still, keep up the good work and cheers. --Wiedster 21:31, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Convert them to PNG using GIMP, then export all PNG files to ZIP. -- Nastys —Preceding undated comment added 12:46, 16 May 2010 (edit) (undo).

Audio Playback

Have you thought of implementing an ogg\mp3 player for some relaxing music playback while reading comics?--Corey89 12:15, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I'm going to implementing a player --Tiamattia 08:56, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

GUI

Maybe change the loading screen to a more... HBC-like browser; For every ZIP file, have a PNG file with the same name as a thumbnail or a cover which will be small like 32x64 bits. --Elisherer 19:15, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

There is already the preview. Press + when you are in the menu. Or place your covers in SD:/comics/cover/nameofthezipwithextension.png —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiamattia (talkcontribs) 08:56, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

````firedrake this is a great program tiamattia..Keep up the great work..
USB Compatibility
Although the app says it is USB-compatible, it didn't work. I have the 1st partition formatted to FAT (on a multi-partition 500Gb USB HD), with a /comics folder at the root, however the app says it can't find 'sd:/comics'. Shouldn't it look for 'usb:/comics' as well? --Friiloader 23:21, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, there is a bug... --Tiamattia 15:36, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Picture Dimensions
What dimensions do the png files exactly need? i use linux an i want to resize them myself (and no, i dont want to use wine). regards wied —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiedster (talkcontribs) 13:45, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Well, the dimension of images have to be (a multiple of 4)x480 --Tiamattia 15:36, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Resizer requirements for Wine
I use Mac Leopard and I tried to launch ComixChannel Resizer using Wine and WineBottler but it didn't work. I think it requires some winetricks. What winetricks must I install? -- Nastys —Preceding undated comment added 12:19, 16 May 2010 (UTC).
i create a alternative icon for your app ;) [1] NeoRame 15:20, 15 July 2012 (CEST)
Comic Book Archive support
It was bound to happen sooner or later, it's a nice program but it's missing something.
Support for CBZ and CBR and many other compressed CB* files of the Comic Book Archive.
It might be possible to port some of the Archive code (libunrar & lib7zip) as well as the libjpeg from the wiixplorer google code page.
