System Menu 3.4
Does it work with Wii 3.4 Sanderevers 09:16, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- Unless you have the signing bug patched back into your IOSs, no. - Michaelh 10:48, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- That's a pretty big problem. Isn't there some way to install a cIOS without using patchmii? -Flark 04:06, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- No. Nothing can be installed without an (apparently) valid ticket. You could modify an existing IOS and not have to install it (and therefore not need to get it signed) but it's extremely risky if anything goes wrong. And you could probably only get the permissions to write to the files with an SU tmd (none of which are publicly available which aren't fake-signed). - Michaelh 16:43, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm... so how does the DVDx installer for sys menu 3.4 work? Seriously, now I am really curious, because I believe it used to use PatchMii before the 3.4 update fixed the hole. Now the 3.4 installer by svpe is used for 3.4 systems, but I have no idea how that one works. -Flark 00:34, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- It uses the same exploit as the HBC. And it never used PatchMii, except for PatchMii installs (which are now disabled, due to 3.4) --SquidMan 15:07, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Unclear
Functionality
The article is a bit unclear about what it actually does, can somebody make it more clear?
- It enables USB 2.0 devices to run at full USB 2.0 speeds. Before, it would only allow USB 1.1 speeds. - Twili 11:27, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Backwards Compatibility
If I install this, will my USB 1.1 devices still work? I was unclear about that part in the limitations section. - Twili 11:27, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yes after installation you can use IOS202 in homebrews for USB2 support. - nIxx 11:38, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- From what I understood, USB1.1 does _NOT_ work in this. If you need USB1.1, either use normal IOS, or add USB1.1 support to this. --SquidMan 20:20, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Offline Installation
How could I install this offline? (If possible, if not, how would I change the installer's source?) Vithon
- You can store the NUS ios in the frontSD Kwiirk 17:33, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

To say that in a different way, download all that files, and put it under the directory /00000001/0000001f inside you sd card.
Will you add support for installing with WAD file? Duhow
- No. Such WAD would include copyrighted code from nintendo. Kwiirk 11:33, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Error 116
Hi. Ive done all your instructions to install cIOS offline but still get 116 error. What can I do? 3.3U with HBC --Steve 21:52, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
This is what I have done to install the usb2 cIOS offline, First download this tmd file http://nus.cdn.shop.wii.com/ccs/download/0000000100000024/tmd Then use NUSD downloader, click on "Or Load it from TMD" select the tmd file you just downloaded, Make sure to put 1042 in the version box, Hit start NUS download. Now put all the files NUSD grabbed for you along with the tmd file you used in sd:/00000001/00000024/v1042/ Now you can complete the installion offline. --Strakn 19:30, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm in the same situation. Cannot get offline install to work. Downloaded all 17 files and put them on the sd card in /00000001/0000001f/ And re-ran the usb2 boot.dol in HBC. What are we missing? --Jimage 22:13, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
for offline installation of beta3 it's not the files kwiirk mentioned, but cetk, tmd and 00000001-0000000e from http://nus.cdn.shop.wii.com/ccs/download/0000000100000024/ put into sd:/00000001/00000024/v1042/. --Krall 14:26, 21 April 2009 (CEST)
I've downloaded cetk, tmd and 00000001-0000000e from http://nus.cdn.shop.wii.com/ccs/download/0000000100000024/ and put them into sd:/00000001/00000024/v1042/ and still didn't work, I'm always getting -116. --rami01 06:35, 29 May 2009 (EEST) —Preceding undated comment added 03:41, 29 May 2009 (UTC).
Okay, I've tried downloading the files with the links you left http://nus.cdn.shop.wii.com/ccs/download/0000000100000024/ and i couldn't ... maybe links are dead or something could you pass on a mirror please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Khristofer (talk • contribs) 08:05, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
WiFi
Along the lines of this is there any chance of replacing IOS' WiFi module to one that actually works? --AgentX 17:25, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- What do you mean? IOS's WiFi works just fine >.> --SquidMan 15:07, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
The the wifi on wii is pathetic, the speed is rubbish, needs optimising, if at all pssible. --djdynamite123 11:25, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
cIOSUSB2 installed, and DVDX installed to IOS202
Whilst testing with MPlayerCE, I can not use usb2, MPlayer wont recognise it, yet it does for Rodries & Agent, if i reinstall DVDX back to "patchmii" causing me to revert back to USB 1.1 it works. And obviously MPlayer is compiled corectly to use USB2.0 So I assume the driver isn't compatible or something, causing a break, I'm on 3.2 and modchipped. djdynamite123 11:28, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
[EDIT] I required your ciosUSB2 libfat.a in libogc/lib/wii compiled MPlayerCE now working with my USB with USB2.0 :) much faster thanx to USB2 KWiirk djdynamite123 17:15, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey
I'm a bit reluctant to upgrade my USB2 driver from beta 2 to beta 3.
I recently updated to system menu 4.0 and while doing that I reinstalled DVDx to IOS202.
I don't want to mess anything up, so I need some kind of verification that trying to install b3 won't break somthing else.
I currently don't know where the beta2 of USB2 is installed.

cIOS USB2 installation problem
I have 3.3U with HBC and cIOS 36 ver.9. Ive tried to install cIOS USB 2.0 beta 3. During installing (dowloading 15 files) Ive got Internet problem and install freezed with exception and "code dump". Wii freezed too. Then ive tried to install it once more - Internet ok, but installation freezed with the same error. The third time Ive tried all files have been downloaded but installation get an error after downloading - "bad hash data". I dont know what to do with this. What can I do to fix this? Please help. --Steve 22:16, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Special dol for testing which would help solving compatibility issues
Kwiirk, I wonder if you could do a special usb2-testing dol which would try to perform some basic stuff and create a log reporting eventual problems. All people who have problems with USB2 support (like me), we can start that dol and then send the logs to you. BTW, for me applications work great with external HD through regular USB (I use MPlayerCE, and tantric's SNES and NES emulators with regular USB), but the same applications don't see the HD at all when I set them up to use IOS202. If it is possible for the IOS to create logs, we might even install some debugging version of the IOS202 broody 23 April 2009
Linux Kernel 2.6.29.1
I've tried recompiling a usb2.0-patched version of the 2.6.29.1 kernel but it fails at starting bluetooth and eth drivers. (Added the define (although I doubt if this is still necessary) and added the diff (manually, since patching didn't work for this version)).
Anyone else with more success?
