Talk:CIOS Patchmii Installer
From WiiBrew
Can you update it to CIOS rev4 please?
- Correct me if I'm wrong but, "IOS36 is only needed for some disc-based games, all of which come with an update partition that contains that IOS" means IOS36 is not on the Nintendo Update Servers, it's only on discs with updates --Bg4545 20:10, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
As Bg4545 implied, NUS does not have IOS36. So, I can't really do anything Waninkoko's installer won't do. Well, that's not quite true, but the benefits of what I could do for this application aren't really worth it at this point. --Tona 17:48, 3 September 2008 (UTC)Scratch that, IOS36 is on NUS now. I know it wasn't there previously. I'll see if that's a viable option. --Tona 18:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
It keeps saying that the network cant initialize, it says "net_init:-116" or something like that. I know I have internet on the Wii, so is there something I am doing wrong? rockybulwinkle
- I had the same problem. What I did to solve it was wait until the Homebrew Channel network had initialized before launching cIOS Patchmii Installer and it worked fine. Deozaan 08:33, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

What does it stand for anyway? Rsrockerz 21:59, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not asking for it or how to use it but I would also like to know what this is, waninkoko's web site has poor documentation.--DrMario 22:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Disc Interface (Protocol?). That should tell you what it does right there. If you can't get it with just that, then you really don't need to know. --SquidMan 06:42, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
what
I'm sorry I didn't exactly got what CIOS Patchmii Installer does... I mean, I got it's a patch for the wii system but what it exactly does? what's the difference, for example, between this and crediar's starfall system patch? could someone please tell me? thanks --balta 12:01, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- same here, all waninkoko's site says is what has changed between the last version, not what it does. Also does this interfere with the wii shop channel (do I need to uninstall/re-install to use the shop channel) or does it install any tickets? Does waninkoko's interfere with the shop channel or install tickets? --DrMario 22:53, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Recompiling errors
I'm trying to recompile this installer from sources (with a small modification) in an attempt to get past the problems of the latest update. However, I always get errors - all seem to link back to the fact that the file info_content_app.h is missing. Can anyone point me in the right direction? - Redion 05:24, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
cIOS installer on 3.4 system?
Will this work and install correctly on a Wii running system menu 3.4? Thanks. --Mbressman 22:34, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- I believe it will, as long as you have the trucha bug in the correct IOS (I'm not sure which one, but I think it might be IOS35 or IOS36).--MattMan 15:30, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well if the installer is compiled with the most recent libogc, it loads IOS36 at startup even if the souce does not contain an IOS Reload. So it runs off IOS36 unless the source has an IOS Reload for another IOS integrated. The IOS36 that is installed with the 3.4 update has the trucha bug fixed. If you would update from 3.2 to 3.4 by only updating the IOS used by the system menu and the system menu, you would keep your IOS36 with trucha bug. But don't get stupid ideas about downgrading now, downgrading is stupid and has a VERY high brick chance, and won't work anyways if you don't have a trucha capable IOS. --WiiPower 15:46, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Would it maybe be possible to patch the IOS on a pc, then use the pre-patched IOS in a CIOS installer? Icake 16:11, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

cIOS installer on 4.2 system
How do I install this on HBC if I have System Menu 4.2. I just wanna use this so I can get Gecko OS 1.9.1 to work. I am getting ticked off cuz its not working I keep getting a -1017 error. What do I need to do, please reply back ASAP Thank You! --RPD490 01:02, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Requirements
This installer requires an IOS36 with trucha bug. If you didn't do anything special to your Wii and have system menu 3.3 or higher, you do not have such an IOS36. And you won't get instructions how to get it, because it also leads to warez. (no trucha bug => trucha bug is equal to no warez possible => warez possible) If you are on 3.2 and no game disc updated your IOS36, you should be lucky. The error -1017 usually occurs when trying to install something trucha signed while the IOS does not have the bug. --WiiPower 11:13, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
