Need Help Immediately

Well I was trying to log on to the forum and now it wont let me and it gives me the "That username/password was not found or is inactive. Please try again." error. sooo...please help.?!--Flyguy 20:06, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

This is because you've been banned from the forum for a long list of offenses; Starting from your original posts about SoftMii (some of which were made after you were told to stop), insanely offtopic chatter, disrespect of the moderation/administration (referring to your tendency to edit your posts, greatly changing the content of them after a moderator removed fail links/info/etc. to make it look as though you never did anything wrong greatly confusing conversationalists without acknowledgment of what was once there), accusing other members of the forum of pirating when they're not nor did they allude to pirating resulting in driving the accused members away from the forum. Most of these offenses occurred multiple times and you were notified of them all at one point or another. Considering all of this, it's a miracle you weren't banned sooner.--Arikado 20:38, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Alright fair enough and i did acknowledge that i made a mistake by apologizing to who i accidently accused of the wrong thing and I edited those postsafter i apologized. Also, I realize that i shouldn't have edited those posts and apologize. However, I did not talk about softmii after i knew what it was. And in regard to removing what you changed i never reposted a link to something not supported. Also, i never accused that user of pirating but simply stated that wads are not supported. I now realize this was not my place.--Flyguy 22:04, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
I apologize for trying to do your job, it is not my place to tell people what is and isn't supported.--Flyguy 01:51, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Regarding SoftMii, your first post was a hijack of a topic asking for help using it. So I guess after explaining to you what SoftMii was (in private) wasn't enough for you to "know" what it was because you then proceeded to post an entire topic about SoftMii. You seriously weren't in any trouble over it (on account of ignorance) until you posted that topic. Regarding the accusation incident you're referring to, I'd like to remind you that you have accused users many times of pirating, thus 'Doing my job.' whether or not they were pirating (and you were wrong a couple times) In the incident you were referring to, a user asked about installing a cIOS (possibly tona's r the MPlayerCE USB cIOS - the user was very vague and their topic content extremely small) and you went out of your way to accuse them of pirating WADs with WAD Manager. For a new user to see comments like those thrown at him (or her) drives the user away from our forum. Even if, hypothetically speaking, I counted those two aforementioned offenses as very minor offenses (and I'm not by the way) you still have the offenses of insanely off-topic chatter and disrespect of the moderation/administration, which would still add up (with the hypothetical "minor offenses") to having you banned.--Arikado 16:02, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
For one, I only wrongfully accused a user once and apologized then he/she said it was ok. Also, I apologize to you for wrongfully editing a post.... It won't happen again... Hey we all make mistakes--Flyguy 19:57, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm glad you've apologized for two of your "mistakes" but unfortunately you are a day late and a user account short. You've had a history of bad decisions ("mistakes" and "ignorance") and I finally had enough after watching how you behaved yourself here I came to the decision that the forum would be better off without you and I'm sticking to that decision.--Arikado 20:08, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Umm... I'm confused.... All I said was that the content he posted was nasty... I didn't even watch it! Also I just wanted to make sure that it was a joke and I didn't understand.--Flyguy 22:42, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Regarding that incident; Why don't you read my last post in the topic? Regarding your account status in general; You're banned for a handful offenses (some of them very serious) and that's that. This discussion between us has only insured my confidence in that I have made the right decision to exclude you from the forum. You have no one to blame but yourself, so please stop whining.--Arikado 14:48, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
I did read your post and I agree that I shouldnt have fed the fire. However in that topic WaxyPumpkin72 and I did not do anything wrong in that topic. However that other user.... He/she should not have posted that video.--Flyguy 15:17, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
ummm... Why isn't aujakev banned? What he did was way worse than "feeding the fire"! Why was I the only one banned!?--Flyguy 15:23, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
What I called "feeding the fire" was encouraging off-topic behavior and encouraging the posting of nudity. aujakev is very young and does not have a troubled history in the forum like you do. Despite this though, he has been informed that he will be banned the next time he gets into trouble. Both you and Waxy received the same consequence, but when I looked into both of your pasts it came to my attention that it was time (maybe even a little overdue!) to ban you (you can reread my first response to see all of the reasons why)--Arikado 16:07, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

I did in no way encourage the posting of that!! I even said that it was wrong!!! I for one am disgusted by things like that!! I don't encourage that or had any intent to! Regarding off-topic things I have done it but not to excessively or ever ever on a gross thing like that!--Flyguy 20:54, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Flyguy you should've stopped posting at the point where aujakev said "no you don't get it, I LOVE YOU MAN". You just couldn't though and you continued to encourage aujakev until he posted a video clip containing nudity. And for the record, your comments afterward ("Lol" and "Ok... Off-topic and a little nasty :-P") sounded very condemning (sarcasm). I now believe we've discussed everything that needs to be discussed so I'll thank you to stop responding to me from this point onward.--Arikado 23:39, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

"Wii" vs. "Nintendo Wii"

Hi, I see you undid my edit on Main Page/Welcome. It was probably just a misunderstanding caused by the incomplete edit summary (I might have accidentally hit return before finishing the edit summary). The reason I did that modification is because the console is officially called "Wii", not "Nintendo Wii", according to Nintendo[1] — I'm sort of a grammar nazi. :D Diego pmc 13:59, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, I added it, but forgot to sign. Helsionium 18:19, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Big thanks :-) I wasn't expecting to work on this today, so I have other commitments in the way right now. I'll see if I can get it done by the next 24 hours. Again, BIG thanks :-)--Arikado 19:29, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Marc has Dop-IOS programmed in such a way that all of the IOS and version data and description are all stored and accessed in a single array. Here is the array from Dop-IOS v8, also used in Dop-IOS MOD v5:

Feel free to edit that array yourself in compliance with the data you posted. If not, I'll do it myself as soon as I have time tomorrow (or later today if I'm lucky, I'm heading out the door right now and have a homework megaton awaiting me when I get back)--Arikado 19:51, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

OK, I edited the array. I didn't edit OLDVERSION, because I think it refers to the oldest version, not the second-most recent version, right? Helsionium 07:25, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
Right - Great work :-) Eventually, I plan on rewriting a chunk of Dop-IOS MOD so we can choose from more than the oldest and latest versions of IOSs. In the meantime though, I'll just compile with the array you made (thanks - saved me about 20 minutes) and release as v6. Again, thanks :-)--Arikado 15:50, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome! BTW, NUS Downloader has the ability to download the most recent version of any title. Do you think you (or Marc) could implement this in Dop-IOS? The old versions won't ever change, and if you incorporate code to detect what the newest versions are, you wouldn't have to update every time Nintendo does... Helsionium 16:15, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
I'll take a look at the NUSD source and see if it's possible. Also, I just updated the page with the new array.--Arikado 16:22, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello

How's it going, Arikado?--retrotails 01:01, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Busy -_---Arikado 13:51, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
I can tell. Have you seen my latest hacking feats? Mostly, these videos:

From piano to Banjo-Kazooie ROM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_-oEXy0abg
Tetris: Retrotails Edition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua71ngkqvM0 (You'll only be able to tell the differences if you know the original really well)
Sorry for posting on your talk page, but experience has shown that E-mail is NOT the way to go. Damn HTML <BR>...--retrotails 23:49, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

RE: Release vs Update

Taken directly from Wikitionary:

1. (software) The distribution of an initial or new and upgraded version of a computer software product; the distribution can be both public or private.1

You are updating, therefore upgrading the release of the software/homebrew, so "release" is a completely valid way of phrasing it.

I don't appreciate the hostility & if it keeps up, I will report YOU to a sysop. 「ɠu¹ɖяy」 10:20, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Also I have just noticed on your blog, that your blog entry for the 8.0 iteration of Dop-IOS MOD, the title says "Dop-IOS MOD 8.0 Released" (which I've taken a screenshot, in case something mysterious happens to the blog entry ;)) 「ɠu¹ɖяy」 10:20, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Regarding my blog, "updated" would be grammatically incorrect in the context I chose to use. In the wikis context, "updated" is the correct term. Again, YOU are changing MY release notification against MY will. I have the right to write whatever the hell I want and you have the right to respect that. I am now reporting you to several sysops.--Arikado 14:41, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Arikado can obviously call it "updated" or "released" or whatever else he prefers. And now please stop spamming the recent changes history. Thanks. --Svpe 15:55, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Please see this. Arikdao is taking ownership of the info on a wiki, which is against the nature of a wiki, no one "owns" the info on a wiki. If Arikado didn't want people to alter what info is on the wiki, they should have not posted in the first place. The edit I have made is neither vandalism or disruptive to the wiki. I am just amazed how a forum admin can be so hostile to a wiki user & nothing is said to them. 「ɠu¹ɖяy」 17:49, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
First of all, learn to spell my name correctly. Secondly, I am not taking "ownership" of anything. I believe that you are making a statement that inaccurately represents my product of countless hours of my hard work, so I am undoing it to keep it accurate. Please just stop. I have explained my reasoning to you. I do not agree with your reasoning, and now one sysop does not agree with your reasoning.--Arikado 17:55, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
You're both quibbling over something totally trivial. Neither of you is right and neither is wrong. Both of you should just leave it at that - there is to be no more discussion of this by either of you or you will both be banned. --Tantric 17:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Yay more personal attacks! I've hit the big bully picking on the little guy & nothing will be done lotto. You are not really stating your reasoning. There would no grammatical reasoning to having "released" on one announcement (your blog) & "updated" on another (Main Wiibrew page), the reasoning you stated is completely flawed. I still don't see the reasoning & I still don't appreciate the hostility.
Oh, I love how I was banned & yet nothing was done to Arikado, even though they personally attacking & they are one of the forum admins, so therefore they should be civil. And yes I'm using an alternate name due to me personally feeling I was wronged by this situation. Gu1dry 18:14, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
You were banned because I added to this talk page that I think that Arikado was right. You reverted his changes back twice afterwards. I discussed this personally with Arikado and he also knows that he didn't behave in the right way. However, you clearly just wanted to make this page look like _you_ wanted it to look like no matter what at least two other people said. I could use your argumentation to state that you are trying to take over the ownership of the wiki. And also, this is not wikipedia. We have different rules here. The creation of your second account also shows that you apparently just want to do whatever you want. If you really want to discuss this just wait until your ban expires or find some other way to contact me (email, irc). I'm not going to punish you any further for this but please refrain from creating more accounts. Thanks. --Svpe 18:36, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
