"An error has occurred"
A message saying "An error has occurred" appears when I try to load a ROM from an SD Card. Has anyone else encountered this problem?--FearMe 17:18, 7 June 2008 (CEST)
- Not had any problems like that? Have you got the roms loaded in the right folder on the SD card? You need N64ROMS and N64SAVES in the root directory. JD 18:42, 7 June 2008 (CEST)
Yes.--FearMe 18:51, 7 June 2008 (CEST)
Here's an image of the error: [removed] --FearMe 19:22, 7 June 2008 (CEST)
My mistake... As it turns out, it was the format of the ROM that caused the problem... Sorry... --FearMe 18:05, 15 June 2008 (CEST)
I have the Same problem "an error has occured". i put the rom into the folder N64ROMS, and also i've created an empty folder N64SAVES. the ending of the rom-files are .v64.
on my pc i can start the roms (with project64), but not with wii64 --Seeyou 01:15, 6 July 2008 (CEST)
Same problem here... I try to go into my SD Card and it says an error occurred. I formatted it into Fat and Fat32, its also not SDHC. I cant access the card from the wii64 at all. I've had no problems like this with any of the other applications or emulators so it has to be wii64. I'll try a DVD and see if it persists.--Yourevilmonkey 18:56, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
How does one load off a DVD, anyway? Help would be appreciated!--Yourevilmonkey 02:33, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Does anyone have any insight on how to do this? The article says the ROMs can be anywhere on the DVD. I've tried both +R and -R and neither are working... Please Help!

Updates
Any updates to the project? Yaanu 23:33, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Actually yes, but the only official build so far is the r200 for GC and the r300 for Wii.--DanielHueho 20:53, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
===>> are you all work to fix graphic and speed bug´s? or are you three quit with the emulator FBI-Hunter 12:01, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Why re-invent the wheel?
Since the Wii is already fully-backwards compatible, why not just use the Wii's built-in N64 emulator? Right now, Wii64 can't even play any games because the frame rate is so low. Wouldn't it be FAR FAR easier to just use the emulator that's already there? VC downloads are just ROM files anyway, so why not go this route? --Sigma 03:47, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- VC downloads are NOT just the rom file, each VC game as its own specific 'emulator' for that rom. Taking out the emulator can't be done. --Bg4545 04:19, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- Not true, Bg4545. The emulator included in a virtual console download can be used with different roms. But that is not an appropriate topic for wiibrew.org. Flark 12:32, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- Well yeah, I know that but each 'emulator' is 'optimized' for one rom. That's why injections don't work perfectly --Bg4545 22:50, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Cant Do Anything
For some reason i cant select or move through the menu i tried with the wiimote the gamecube controller and a keyboard but i just cant get it to work. ive been looking for a solution online but i cant find anything
open the emulator then disconnect your controller (GC CONTROLLER) and connect it again
- I'm having the same problem, the only controller I'm using is the wiimote. Gsmax5 06:51, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Source doesn't compile
When I try to make the binary, it says that I haven't got the powerpc-gekko files, but I have them. Why happen this? Duhow
- You probably don't have the devKitPPC bin folder in your PATH and thus why it can't find the tools. You can add by adding 'export PATH+=":path_to_devkitppc/bin"' to your environment under linux. If you are in windows i think you have to go to your control panel to access environment variables ... i'm not sure. --Rhys 08:59, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- Access environment variables? No idea. I have the powerpc-gekko files inside the folder and it doesn't run. I have cygwin, devkitpro and libogc of vba-wii in Windows, because I don't have linux. Then, what more do I need? Duhow
Games
Where can I download games? And once I do download games, is there anything that I need to do with the SD card before putting the games on? Like do I need to download something special so that I can put said games on the card and they will be playable? A response including these would be greatly appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Therobonapkin (talk • contribs) 23:30, 11 April 2009
- Public Domain roms and PDRoms.de, read Wii64#ROM Format, and read Wii64#ROM Format again. LoganA 18:23, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
No Piracy Talk
The link provided by LoganA (now removed) was to Public Domain roms and not warez. Actually, I think all the roms on that page are homebrew apps. -- MetaFight 22:24, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

If there's anyone out there who thinks this emulator is taking too long to be made, think of it this way:
PJ64, a PC emulator, still isn't done, but then again, they have to configure that to run with thousands of hardware specifications; Wii64 is only being coded to run on one hardware specification. This will be done before PJ64 is, rest assured.--Namo 17:25, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
faster?
Are you ever going to make a faster version of this. --Wiier 20:53, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Use MPK Format for Memory Cards?
I don't know if this is already implemented or planned, but PLEASE - I beg, use the MPK format used by Project64 and Mupen64 for memory card saves! Recently I lost my data on my physical N64 memory card, but I had previously backed it up to dexdrive format (.N64) and converted them to .MPK as well, and would greatly appreciate being able to continue my saved games. Is this still in production?
The website hasn't updated since july, and here we are 2 months later and no update on wii64's progress. Is there some way we can know if it's still in production, or if the coders are just taking a break. If they did stop production that would suck because I want to play n64 on my wii really badly but I can't code so I won't cry about it
PS how long do wii emulators take to make? I know a 64 emulator is probably more complex, than say an NES emu, but It would be nice to have timelines to compare
Its opensource its always in "production" (developement). - Gamewizard71

This has not only revolutionized Wii Homebrew, you've revolutionized computer science by writing the first MIPS -> PPC dynarec. AMAZING WORK!!! (I'm sending some money your way :-) )--Arikado 21:21, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
