Revision as of 23:01, 8 July 2009
Firstly, Just to clarify, is this an unofficial stump of WiiSX? Cause I seen on their page that they didn't want anyone doing stuff to their code and seeing some of your source has me worried that this may be the case. I dont mean to sound nasty or anything, but I just wanted to clarify. Secondly, Will we see anything (besides actually compiling the file ourselves) as to just how well this program works compared to WiiSX? Like a YouTube video or something? - This is not an unofficial stump of WiiSX. --Drugold 15:51, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm will not make videos like that. If you want to compare, just do it yourself. I don't compete with wiisx-team, rather, want to help.
- All I can say is what it stable, I played 11 hours in FF4 and 7 hours in FF9 without reboots with rev1. Newer rev's i'm not tested... --Firnis 17:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- Allright, thanks for the reply, just wanted to clarify. Keep up with the good work. BPzeBanshee 06:02, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Does this actually work? Slinden 16:45, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. --Firnis 17:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- ...but not nearly as well as the last WiiSX build on the svn.--Arikado 18:06, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- Progress is being made, Im sure it'll get competitive with WiiSX soon. We do need alternate development on a PSX emu for the Wii whether the other dudes like it or not. I'm optimistic for this thing. BPzeBanshee 06:18, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Load original PSX discs
A quick question if you please: what are the chances of this emulator eventually having the ability to load original PSX disks? ISO's are nice and all, but I'd rather use my originals if at all possible. -Kage Korosu 17:15, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Wii does NOT support CD-ROM/R/RW. --Drugold 18:05, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- However, it does have USB ports to which one could connect a CD-ROM drive. .Hyper//Hacker 10:29, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Loading games
Hi, just downloaded and installed Rev. 18 but I can't find my game on the SD card. I'm trying to play Metal Gear Solid 1. I have a bin / cue file (and ISO) in the ./wiisx/games folder, but it's not showing anything up on the list. I'm running 4.0 with a 2gb SD card (NOT SDHC). I'll keep fiddling with files on my card, but just thought I'd let you know. Grayda 13:00, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- I had the exact same problem with Caslevania Chronicles. It refused to recognize the bin/cue files for it. WiiSX beta 1 worked perfect though.--Arikado 13:26, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- Please, try it without .cue, only .bin... Maybe cue support is broken...--Firnis 17:31, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Please, write about these and other issues here --Drugold 17:28, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Your game images must fit two criteria: The extension has to be lowercase and there has to be a space in the filename. "MGS 1.bin" for example--FUNKAMATIC ~talk 00:26, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
control problems
first off i want to say thank you for such a good job, But i have a pretty annoying problem the games works fine, except the controls are a little screwy. when i move left right whatever. the game doesn't refresh the button press i think... what happens for me is i press left and my character continually moves left until i press any button on the wii pad, (whether or not it is assigned, for example 2 isn't assigned as anything in game, But if i press 2 he will stop moving left. But if i move left. and then want to move right it wont work unless i press a button this can be over ridden by holding a button. which is ok as i am playing breath of fire 3. so i have to hold a button to run. But it's annoying because i have to hold the button in menue's battles, and anything else that requires movement. i tried other games and it still doesn't work properly. any idea's? - you should report the problems you find here. Also, try playing your game with non-analog controls (change in the settings).--FUNKAMATIC ~talk 00:28, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
